How do you care for your underside mow deck ?

I bought a MoJack and clean the deck after any mowing. Hard not to mow damp grass here. Down in a valley. By the time the grass dries the dew is starting.

I scrape the underside throughout the mowing season, and then spray with wd40; seems to help with rust prevention and the grass doesn’t seem to stick as much. I’ve used the ez slide (brush on); this works for a while, but wears off. And, it is not cheap! Unfortunately, regular scraping is the only answer-it’s part of the mowing experience I can tell you I have no rust on my 147 48” deck, and none on my 1988 stamped MTD 38” deck. The lawn is often wet, long, weedy and hilly. Good luck.

Thanks for the concern, I Use jack stands(usually, HeHe). Also a good creeper. I use a small stiff dull putty knife and a hand held wire brush. I’m not a big fan of using water to clean under the deck.

Wow, a brother Masshole, Hi mfrade. I say that in just. I did the powder coat five years ago and use the WH on a regular bases. had it done in white so I can see if grass is still stuck after pressure washing. I have to admit our lawn doesn't have any stones or gravel showing. I plan on doing our sons CC1000 deck the same way.

Hello Zipper, LOL to the Masshole.. and yes, I jest! Good to hear the powder coat has held up. I've got equipment at work that barely a year old and the powder coat has flaked off. We had a Jeep and the front grill protector was powder coated, by the time we realized the coating was failed - the metal underneath was rotted and pitted. I swore off powder coating right then.
