I dunno, seems like a bit of overkill. What I've done is lay out a Shopvac hose with the end just at the hornet hole. They can't leave or enter the hole without getting sucked in. Works great. Leave the vac working well after the sun goes down; lotsa traffic then.

Kraig a few years ago a member of the forum down in N. Ohio did that, he coated a nest with something to preserve it like Gary did.He listed a 48 in mower deck for sale and when I went to go get it I had a chance to see it in his garage. Gary's right,it was a pretty cool conversation piece!
