I have a 93 model 1330 with a 12.5 hp Kohler. When I fgat it I noticed gas dripping from the bowl so I got a rebuild kit and put it in. Gas still comes from the bowl. This does not happen while it's running, only when it's stopped.

Have a new float on order but the old one is plastic and it didn't seem to be holding fuel.

ANy help is greatly appreciated

Sam

Where is it leaking from. get down and wipe it off really good and look at it for a minute. is the top or bottom of the bowl? Or is it the gas line going in. Whats fgat?

Will look at it tomorrow and post back. Fgat is very bad spelling for got

Did you replace the seat for the float valve needle. The seat will get cruddy and pitted over time and if carb cleaner is used it sometimes causes them to deteriorate. In most carbs they are a bit tricky to replace but the rebuild kit should come with one, and for most of the ones I've gotten they don't come with instructions on how to replace them. Just replacing the needle will sometimes work but the needle and seat should be replaced as a set.

Got a kohler kit and it didn't come with a float or a needle valve seat. Took it apart again today and sprayed it out again and so far no leaks.

Dave it was leaking from the top of the bowl. I also replaced the gas line and filter. Hopefully problem is solved. Will find out soon enough.

sam If nobodys mentioned it yet Welcome, If its got a fair amount of hours on it that needle and seat would prolly be next,
Everetts right replace them in sets if thats an option. To be honest I don't honestly know what carb you've fgat. I've seen seats built into the body or the carb, I think those carbs didn't have adjustments more than idle.( sorry dude, had to throw that in)

No prob Dave. Will try to see what kind of carb it is and post back. Needle has been changed but I'll be darned if I can see a way to get the seat out even if I could find one.

And thanks for the welcome Dave.

that seat might be slotted for a long thin screwdriver up in the body of the carb where the needle fits into, youd have to mabey take the carb off to get it.
