Denny,

You owe it to yourself to buy the latest Farmington Implement Video #8.....over an hour of pure Farmall Plant history, with every step on the line....including a nice bit on tire mounting!!!

A real insight into what went into the production of our beloved red tractors!!!!

Too bad there isn't one like that for Louisville!!!!

STEVE - I just noticed this topic. I'd like to get all ten of those DVD's, but #8 would be good to start with.

The DVD with the segment on the Emeryville trucks would be interesting too. My boss/neighbor worked there till it closed and transferred to Farmall.

STEVE - You didn't mention the map or blueprint or drawing of the whole plant floor plan! All TWO MILLION SQUARE FEET! Combine that with my FARMALL BRICK and I can make a nice little shrine.

Should have the DVD in two days. Guy I ordered from says he's shipped a 100 in the last week to ten days.

You will not want to stop watching all 2 hours of it......get the popcorn ready!!!!!

My mailman is an IH adict too, he kept my DVD for a day like he does my RP magazine.

Most of the details of the assembly process are 66-series specific. 86 series and the start of the 88-series was different. And it sounds like lots of changes were made during an extended July shutdown, like getting the back half of 2+2's off the main line. There was nothing about either one of the two automated storage and retrieval systems FARMALL had, Mine with tires, wheels, & rims by the water tower completed in 1978 and the other one for all other purchased parts up on the east side of the motor building built in the employee parking lot.

A lot of the initial assembly steps was informative even for me.

Anyhow, THANKS for recommending I get this DVD, it's great! Anybody interested in FARMALL tractors should get this DVD to see how and where they were built.
