Do a triple flush with engine oil. First remove the spark plug, fill with oil, and crank the engine long enough to circulate the oil internally. Drain. Then reinstall the spark plug, refill with engine oil, and start the engine. Run it long enough (at slow engine speed) to circulate and warm the oil. Drain. If you see "white" then do another "hot" flush. If the drain oil looks okay, refill with correct engine oil and amount. Should be good to go.

Just uncovered the snowblower after it's been sitting for 1 year. I guess tarps don't work that goodView attachment 152463
i wonder how much water was in the oil,
and i wonder how on earth it got in there!

i’m fairly certain you hadn’t replaced the dipstick with a funnel, though i fully understand the tarp-sweat phenomenon and ambient moisture.

having grown up in the much-drier west, ambient moisture problems (on dry land) still amaze me.

Spread a sheet of clear plastic on the ground in the evening when the sun is out. Then go look at it after the sun sets. It will almost rain under there!
