Buying a used one would be a crap shoot at best.
No telling how old it is or whether it has sat out in the elements, again for how long. Might be good but then again may have been water soaked or be brittle as all get out and the first time you sit on it it cracks and breaks in a dozen places. I have seen many you could poke a hole through it with your fist. Not to mention the rusted and stripped out retainers that it mounts with.
Used seat? nahh, not if I cannot see it in person first, I already have used seats that I want to replace!
 
Been lucky I suppose. Both of my used low backs have been great. Both sourced from the lawn tractors, evidently well taken care of and stored indoors.

I tend to agree and found shipping to be ridiculous !
 
For the price, they don't look bad. Certainly better than the ones with tons of mounting holes. Not sure the pan is plastic. Looks like metal with the threaded inserts..

One of the issues are the bolt patterns, which is quite different compared to the "Cub Cadet" K&M 7519 seat
