Well, Fellow Cub Cadet Lovers, here goes. These are the first pictures of my Acquistion. Seems to be all there. What I have seen missing, he says he has.(Gas tank straps, Left Baffle plate, etc.). I’m excited to go pick this one upand get started. I’ve got a sand blaster full of crushed walnut hulls ready to go….🤣🤣🤣🤣

Did you take the pics or are they from the seller? (Asking so I can keep track of this thread. 149's are great)! :)

They are from the Seller. They were timestamped so I pretty much know that is the way it sets. I edited the statement stamps and most of the garage it sits in out. I plan on takiking it down to the frame after I get it running and evaluate whether to rebuild the hydrostatic and motor.

I’m picking tractor up this coming week. I have to go to the Northwest of Knoxville to pick it up. Already negotiated with a soda blaster service here in Birmingham to blast the whole tractor. They were very reasonable. They will use walnut huts on all the sheet metal. Of course, I will spray paint it myself because I have the equipment. I’m thinking that while all the parts are being stripped will give me time to rebuild the motor. They will spray prime each piece after stripping as this is their specialty. I have acquired a Newy valve seat cutting kit, probably will go wil a harmonic balancing kit and change the engine to electronic ignition. Just a few ideas I have. I would like to know from some of you more experienced here of whom sells the best complete decal set for a CC 149.

Mark, it sounds like you may have already visited Kirk Engines (a sponsor). He has electronic ignition conversions, balance plates, and lots of other items to ooh and ahh over. If you haven’t visited his site, you should. Also there is a “Killer Kohler” write up about his rebuild of a K301 engine That all Cub Cadet enthusiasts should read.

Well, it’s home. I whooped! 600 miles there and back, with 3 hours getting it to run good enough to put on the trailer. Carb is leaking a bit. Needs rebuilt! Hydraulics is perfect. And it will scat. I will drain all that and put a new filter and Hy-Tran Hyd. Oil in it. It was slam full of Hyd oil. Stuck apieceof hose in and oil looked good. After fixing the leaks as best I could on the carb, it fired right off with a touch of choke, and purred like a kitty cat. I have some pictures and some question for you more learned members. It had a jury rigged hood hinge, so I took the hood off. It is in very good condition. And fully usable without any body work other than the back lip is rusted but not deep

Took the mower deck off today. Will break it down for blasting tomorrow evening. I’m going the check the spindles for wear. Anyone know where I can get a parts diagram with part numbers for a 441U-1111 deck? Spindle bearings specifically. Also going back with all stainless steel fasteners.

They only sell complete assemblies. 783.00 to replace it all. I think I’ll look some more….lol. I have some good sources here. I will see if I can find some bearings
