Sorry, this is probably a dumb question, (I'm guessing the answer is a big no), but i just wanted to make sure.

Is it possible and a viable option to attach an MTD craftsman 42" snowblower on a 1971 International Harvester Cub Cadet 106, and get it to work proficiently?

Thank you.

probably not worth the work when there are so many QA36 & qa42 out there.

thanks, it's just a local guy has one for sale, so i was wondering if anyone knew.

i just acquired a 2009 1046vt with only 5 hrs on it the only problem i have is this thing is very cold blooded.it will not start under 50 deg.without a shot of starting fluid.it does not have a seperate choke like my 1042 but wide open throttle is labled choke, any body familiar with this.would appreciate any insight.thx jim

James, I have a Spirit Of 76 Cadet lawn tractor that has the "full throttle Choke" deal, it isn't the best starter either. Make sure that the linkage is working properly, it might be that the choke is not being set when the throttle is positioned at full throttle.

James, the single lever controls that combine choke and throttle often are not adjusted properly right from the factory. look on the side of the engine where the cable attaches to the engine, move the throttle and watch it move the linkage.

You can see that it can be adjusted so the choke function is fully activated when the throttle is fully "up". On some you simply bend a tab, on others you loosen the bracket to adjust it.

If it didn't start below 55* that's where I'd start, since the choke plate is not closing fully I am 99.5% sure.
