My machine switched all on it's own from blowing a hint of oil at throttle up, to blowing massive oil smoke at throttle down after mowing. What's going on here? THis is the tractor I asked about earlier that has oil in the aircleaner base.

My plan is to pull the motor to give it a once over.

I think your rings are beyond shot. Either that, or the breather assembly is really messed up. Either way, you seem to have a ton of blowby.
 
I had a bunch of oil getting in my air cleaner and discovered the breather was shot it's a cheap easy fix so i'd look at that first.
