Jeff B, thanks for explaining the closed threads.!I'm not use to the forum yet, obviously..haha. so hope it was ok to put my pic here?

so what do you do when a thread closes? do you start a new one? just wondering..

Rarely do I have my pic taken~ Have tons of Marlin and the kitties, oh and cubbies..hehehe.. but me? umm, a rarity. what's funny is at work Marlin gets picked on, that I dont really exist, as no one at work has ever seen me. Well one co-worker has. So, yesterday Marlin showed it to a co-worker -he smiled and he liked, then said, but how do I really know thats Angel? that could be anyone you had pose for it...he's too funny and said he still doesn't believe I exist, till he see's me in the flesh..lol. this is probably one of a dozen or so taken over the past several years.

thaks Gerry for you comment..

Kraig..another beautiful pic.

Our leaves are just starting to turn. Does it seem possible its FALL? wonder how the drought will affect the leaves this year? ummmmm, thinking. We did get some needed rain so perhaps that will be enough for the tree's to draw nourishment as they offer us the weeks ahead of beauty and grace.

Well, this picture isn't "Kraig Kuality", but it was a beautiful weekend so I grabbed the camera. The blue sky, the Jeep, the colorful leaves, the Jeep, the Jeep, the Jeep...

LOL!

Art, soooo, is that what you would call a "Jeep shot"?

Don't worry, I'm keeping my day job. Nice photo.

Art~ I'm taking you have a fondness for your Jeep? lol. Nice shot. Isn't that sky amazing? and the subtle hints of fall in the air as the leaves start to turn, draws our memories of times to come, the beauty and harvest yet to fill our senses with the colors and smells of autumn

I read in the paper that the dryness is expected to bring forth a bounty of color this year. The leaves in northern Iowa are revealing all their brilliance I understand, but they say the river valleys here in central Iowa are still exptected to peak mid October. I LOVE, love love driving down into the river valleys in the fall. the beauty is just breaktaking along the rivers and its always that added treat when you spot the majestic Bald Eagles soaring above the beauty. We actually have some resident Balds close to us, although we aren't close to the river, I guess the brooks and streams provide their needs. We saw a young Eagle along side the road last week-end, on the shoulder infact eating road kill when we were headed out to get my glasses. That was a treat. Unexpected, and most don't realize the young ones are eagles, since they are dark. He was huge though..lol

Jeff B, tell your daughter thats a great pic of a walking stick.! good eye. ((smiles))

Cathleen, I believe that is a Praying Mantis, and a very good photo of one at that.

This would be a walking stick:

This one was on our entry door at work for several days back in August.

Thanks Cathleen I will show her this

Kraig my daughter likes the walking stick and now wants to look for one.

The pictures are absolulte beautiful. Keep them coming. (We're going to have to raise the screen for me to actually be able to read and see things on the computer. My eyes are of the "unique" style. To see clearly with the top of the bi-focals I need to sit back about 2 1/2 feet from the screen. To use the bottom then the screen is down too low.)

Marlin: I feel for you, I've got the "Transistions" lenses and I find myself removing my glasses a lot of times in order to read the fine print in the newspaper (like the captions to the comics). When you pay all the money, you would think the durned things would help you see better --not worse!

Or should I put this in the "My Rant" thread in the Sandbox?

BOY oh BOY Brian B..

hit my brain when I saw that pic you put up.!nothing not putting a chill up my spine on a warm fall day.! are we looking forward to snow? Not! We had little last year..looks like it got mighty DEEP where you are.Snow..cold north winds ah, I don't look forward to the colder moths ahead, but if they are as abnormal as the rest of the seasons have been, it might not be to bad.

ah shucks,

now I do know the difference between a praying mantis and a walking stick, but I sure flubbed up, ey? Kraig..great pic of the walking stick. I wonder how many of those crawly ones we walk by every day? I have never seen one up close and personal. Sure would be hard to discover in a tree, for sure.

The newest pics of great Kraig. What kind of flowers are those purple ones? They are delgihtful. Wish I had some of those growing in my flower beds.!!

angel.gif
Cathleen

Cathleen, the purple flowers are New England Asters. Did you notice the Bumble Bee in the second photo of them? Here's another photo of the Asters no Bumble Bee in this one.

245788.jpg

Kraig, thanks for the name of the flower and YES I did see the bubblebee in the pic. ((smiles)) the color of the Asters are such a brilliant color, I love that shade!!. I will have to get some next spring..
