HI, Everyone. Angel's resting since any trips anymore do her in and her back hurts too much. Update on Fancy. When we got him to the vet he wouldn't stop purring long enough for the vet to get a good check on his heart. The vet said Fancy was TOO comfortable and at home on the table. He gave him a shot for possible allergies and gave us some tips on helping him lose weight... he's 17#. Angel will write more in the morning about the trip there and back. Fancy found out that the 4x4 Dakota's front arm rest is just the right height for him to sit and watch everything and the back seat is so comfortable for him to lay down upon. All in all Dr. May said that he really couldn't find anything really wrong and maybe it is just allergies or possibly he just had the kitty blues the paast two days.

Jeff and Allen .... THAT is simply awesome. those babies are going to have a great home.

Jeff-

They must have gone first class. The whole thing is as cute as it can be especially with the kittens faces. I hope your daughters will be happy.

No...
we did not ship the kittens, I wanted to post the story earlier but I got busy at work.

Heres the story during the summer I agreed if my daughters thin down their goat and chicken herds they could get a kitten.

Well now I found out they ment a kitten each,,, so ok.

Now today we stop at the county animal hospital/kennel and they have 3 kittens who's mom was hit by a car. So I say pick two out...Then Mom/Wife says well we can't leave the 3rd one behind.

Due to the nasty weather due here in a day or two, the 7 kittens are moving to a more secure home for a few days. They live on the front porch which is all glass, too many trees and stuff that could raise havock. Two less things to worry about, the kittens and my wife's extreme concern for them.

Jeff, what are the new furkids names? they are so sweet..they look to be about 4 weeks old, ey? so tiny...!! I'm sure the girls are overjoyed with the new additions.!!

Cathleen the black one is Mittens because its feet are white, the orange one is "Chubby" Charlie since he seems kinda plump and the tiger tabby is Tiny Tim since he is very small.

Jeff, so little Mittens I see is a tuxedo kitty. I wonder if he has a soft tongue like our Hannah does.? I was going to ask the vet if that is nature of tuxedo's and then I forgot. Hannah has the softest tongue ever, and don't mind when she wants to give me kitty kisses. when Annie piles on the lovings, geez, it feels like the coarsest sandpaper raking my tender face..lol but I say to her " Just little kisses please" and she'll give me tiny licks then rather then full blown kitty kisses. Little Tiny Tim looks very tiny indeed. And of course we see who is at it with the water bowl.." Chubby" Charlie. Bet he trys to hoard the community eating bowl? if so, you might want to give Tiny Tim his own bowl, so he gets enough.. just a thought. Also since they are so young, I wonder if the milk supplement you can get for kitties would be benefical for them? when Fancy found our little Annie two falls ago, we did offer her the supplement at first to help boost her up since she was so young and tiny. She was a good eater though, growling constantly when eating, and I'm sure the momma cat brought mice and she was one who wouldnt let go of it when she got one..she wasn't going to share, considering her reaction around here with mice and food. hehehehe.. I imagine the family is enjoying the new wee ones. I feel so badly they were orphaned. I truly believe that the little ones know and feel the lose of their mommy, so I'm glad you have all given them such a loving forever home.

A week ago mom and dad asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. Well DUH, I always wanna truck ride. We didnt drive round town like we do, but went and got gas. Mom went into the store and I thought, oh boy, she'll bring out chicken strips.. but when she came out..she had none. I thought what is up with that? oh well, when we get done with our ride, they will stop and get chicken for all of us. We went out on the big road and started going really fast.

then we keep driving on..miles and miles then it HITS me.....OH OH we are going for THE RIDE. You know what that means ? They were sneaky and were taking me to see Dr. Ken. Oh mannnnn. Sure, I wasn't feeling good, but I really didn't think a trip to see the doctor was cool. mommy did figure it out the new dry food she put me on for weight loss didnt agree wiff me. We get to the Doc mom goes in and weaves us in the truck. That didn't mind me any and I could keep an eye on her in the door window . I could see Oreo the kitty who runs the joint being petted by mom. Oreo is a nice girl, but kind of snotty cuz she believes everyone comes to see HER, and not Dr. Ken. policy is you must talk to Oreo FIRST before you see the doctor. So I guess Oreo does run the place the way she wants.

then mommy motions for us to come in. Well, time to charm Dr. Ken. They told him what was going on, that I wasn't talking, wasn't doing anything, but laying around not acting like myself. Dr. Ken went to listen to my heart and lungs, as Mommy thought I had a cold, and I was putting on the charm right and Dr. Ken couldnt hear my lungs or listen to my heart. He said you know Fancy, you are just way to happy and content when you come to see me and now is not the time to be purring. I kept purring.

I thought what ever was coming next, he would forget about it, since I was being so good .!!! Then Oreo came wandering by, spying on me..seeing if I was being a wuss or not. NOT. I'm not a scardey cat. Doc looked at my ears and they had a lot of wax, so he carefully dug it out with a tweezers and q-tip. That helped a lot. Then,he put this oily junk in my ears. Now, after he was done with my ears, I was really ticked off, and he laughed and said, well now I got you good and mad I can listen to your heart and lungs. Well, lucky for him, huh? Mom and dad were happy to know that my heart and lungs were fine.

I thought the ear prodding was bad enough, THEN he cut my nails, and I didnt give up a paws without a fight.!! Doc laughed, he could tell I was just being naughty since I was ticked at him.. I had been so good and then he had to start messin with me....but it got even worse then that, and you know what I MEAN, right? He had to check to see if I was running a temp. Oh shooooot, now I have to really play MR. Cool incase miss Oreo comes wandering through again. I will show her that I am THE MAN, and I don't lose my cool under any situation, so as THAT was being done to ME..I just laid on the table and purred. What else could I do?

then, it was time to weigh me. OH OH, here comes to huge speech about how FAT I AM. Yeppers, I weighed in at 17#.I thought Doc was mad at me, but he wasn't. He just smiled. He told mom and dad that when kitty's go on diets, the weight has to come off SLOWLY, or we can end up in all kinds of trouble and get really sick.. Doc said I could eat all the canned food I want. WHAT? WHAT? Am I hearing right? I can eat all the canned food I want? good grief, I'm in heaven. Dr. Ken told mommy that canned food has a lot of water, so most of the food goes right through us, but we get full on canned food faster. Well, I dont' care, as long as I get to EAT. My treats have been way way way cut back, but I still get a few a day and sometimes during the night mommy will give me a little dry food..just a wee bit cuz she knows I miss the crunch. She's so special, she knowns all our needs and wants. so anyways, finally I get to go home. No meds, nothing. I did get a shot for allergies though, since I had been coughing and had watery eyes. Everyone alive has allergies this year, even us kitties.

on the way home, I jumped over the front seat and got in the back seat. Coolness, I have my own seat, and I was looking out all the windows. It was weird seeing things from the back seat. then I laid down and chilled out.Daddy put the arm rest down and that was really cool. then I could see them and mommy could see me. When we were close to home, I got up and sat on the arm rest. that was so NEAT.I was sitting inbetween them I was up really high and I didnt need to be on daddy or mommy then to see out. Whoooaaa though when we came to two overpasses. I DUCKED... I thought we were going to hit the overpass . I ducked both times. Mommy warned me when the second one came up, but I still ducked. It was a long trip.

By last sunday I was back to my ole self and mommy and I have been doing our walking everyday. I know the routine now. We walk all the way up to Amys house and then turn around and come home, and I can walk the whole way without stopping or mommy needing to carry me. I do faint at times though..hehehe, I like to roll in the dirt. then mom has to brush brush brush me off wiff her hands

BTW my tummy isn't sticking out like it was so I think I am losing weight. hooray..!!

Jeff-

It looks like you'll have your hands full for a while. They're awful cute at that age but you have to watch them like hawks. It's always amazed me how cats/kittens will go to a box.

When it came time to spay/neuter my kittens I surfed the net and found a low cost mobil vet that travels to about 4 cities and does nothing but the sterilizing of pets. Their website is snap-nc dot org and they are real thorough with care for the animal. Both of mine combined cost me a total of $138 plus it was "in and out" in one day for both. Maybe there is something like that in your area. My vet was going to charge me $150 for Barney and $200 for Millie totaling $350...NOT! I plan to just show up for their next appointments in a few months and say, "by the way, they're both fixed". The owner of the vet service is a money hungry person but I've used another vet that has worked there for 20+ years and really like her.

Jeff, my heart melted with the newest pics of the trio. How interesting that your little tux kitty has a softer tongue as well. I noticed when Oreo gave me a kitty kiss when we had Fancy had the vet as well, and was going to ask the vet, and then got caught up with Fancys issues, so I forgot. lol.

Those babies are so so tiny. Little Tiny Tim seems to have such a content, quiet look always and little tux baby is full of wonder and awe and then Chubby Charlie, he looks like the big brother who watches over his siblings and will be the boss always..lol. he has that authoritarian look about himself, very self assured.! what fun they are to play with and watch play and create those fun memories of all the silly little quicks they'll have, and the trouble they can get themselves into so easily. hehehe...

Jeremiah, we thought it would be cute for Fancy to share HIS story of going to the doctor so I turned the keyboard over to him..hehehe. Glad that Fancy was able to share his story and guess he did fine since you felt you were with us for the truck ride..wink wink.

Mel, thanks.

Wayne, that is so great you located the mobile vet that does solely spay and neuter and at such an affordable price.! There use to be an organization years ago that worked with individual vets, and they would set up with the vets clinic and help finance the spay/neuter costs so it was affordable for the cliet. Our vet, Dr. Kim, she took part in that and so that is why we were able to get the feral females spayed years ago when we were doing rescue/taming and adopting out. It makes a huge difference. Also Dr.Kim gave us a breeders discount because of our cause and we would bring the kittens in for their first shots before adoption. We did charge everyone $10 for adopting. Well usually. Sometimes we didnt charge. But I was warned not to put ad's out that say " free kittens". Those who feed their big snakes and such rats/mice, also go around to where there are free kittens and grap those up for food for their reptiles...yicks.!!

You know Wayne, you were saying how amazed that cats/kittens will use the litter pan. True. They don't need to be trained. It is in their DNA. one of their survival instincts. cats are very clean too, and will always cover up after themselves and the reason for that is survival 101 too, as it keeps their predetors from knowing where they've been.!! I know from the minute they were old enough to walk and going potty on their own, when the garage became the " nursery" in the spring and summer, I put litter pans down for them in their BIG boxes and those itsy bitsy babies would go use the pan. to me it was just the cutest to watch how intent they were with going in the box and trying to cover it.!! lol..and saved me having to clean up messes...hahaha.

Last night I guess I slept through a fight in the kitchen between mouse and Annie ( it was either her or Tootsie, not sure which.) when I got up this morning, at 2:15am like I do every week day, I walked into the kitchen and everything on the kitchen counter was all astrew, but funniest of all was that the toaster was on the floor, right side up in front of the stove. It had been plugged in. Those pesky little mice come up through the stove to those vents in the back and get on the counter and Annie is always hunting and guess she and a mouse went at it last night..lol. I can't believe I didnt hear anything. That was so odd. I sleep hard, yet unknown sounds will wake me up without them needing to be loud. I put more potato flakes under the stove, and a pan of it out on the 3 season porch too. With the colder nights the mice are coming back in...urrrr.

Cathleen-

I agree about the litter boxes and that's amazing in itself but I was talking about any cardboard box or even bags. Graygirl is a box lover and when one comes in the house she is there. I just noticed Jeffs kittens in that box. I'm sure the box offers a source of security or is just something they find neat and needing inspection.

on BOXES. Yeppers on kitties lovin boxes, and bags. Whenever a package comes to the house, it can be a huge competition as to who gets to it first and is it big enough to get in, and then after the claimer of the box has had their fill, they take turns. there is always a box somewhere in the house being used as a hideout by someone. right now there is a big fresh step litter box that 2 individual litter refills came in and Annie loves it. Well, Hannah does to &loves it when Annie gets in it and she can peek at her through the handle opening on the side. Annie doesn't like to be peeked at,so she'll try to bat at Hannah and when that little white paw comes out Hannah jumps straight up in the air and then takes off without hitting the ground for a good few feet..lol. then Annie comes creeping out , like is the coast clear now.?? did that window peeper go away? Don't forget BASKETS too..as we know from the pics of your furkids Wayne.

This morning someone pulled my big bulky black sweather off the dining room chair and I found it in the middle of the living room floor. Nothing is sacred around here. If you don't want the kids to have it, I guess I have to hang it from the ceiling. lol. I would imagine that Annie was the guilty party.
