Jason - wirrr-wirrr-wirrr - here come the Correct Police.
correct police.gif

You're lucky - these are the KCP (Kohler Correct Police) and those are probably SOP (Standard Operating Parts)

Nic - hey I'm ok with the occasional blip up to 4,000 maybe even 4,500rpms, but I have heard stories about flywheel explosions when you're up in that range.

Like Charlie once posted...."If the shoe fits, feel free to lace the $%^&* up and wear it"

Jason,

The only clear advantage to that little clamp is that it is likely much easier to release if you ever need to pull the engine. My speculation is that the little hole (like your set up) was used with a throttle lever mounted to the blower housing or similar (packaged with the engine from Kohler), and therefore not likely to need to be easily removed. (For stationary applications, or things like tampers, cement mixers, etc.)

While we've all heard stories, and can google images, fly wheels exploding are exceedingly rare.

Knock on wood, but I've been pulling 22 years, and I've never seen one come apart. Even the stock briggs twin motors we regularly run to 5800rpm. Rods cone apart looonnngg before flywheels.

Bill J,

They sure look reasonable to me compared to today's prices! And the mower deck was FREE.

I vote for the tow behind.
Save the tractor and beat the tiller to death!

I second Charlie!
I've seen clutches blow and break stuff, but never a tractor in half! Wow, wow, wow

Thad I have and use both, and I would vote for the tow behind.

Would starting a "NEW THREAD" in Allied Equipment be the proper place for a post concerning Jackson dump cart (wheels),,,, with possible bead seal leak???? Or the sandbox since it's a Jackson,,, ????

If you watch that 1206 video closely, the pump runs away at the end of the run.....probably why he couldn't get it lit on the first attempt.

Well anyway,,, No matter what kind of cart it is,, 149 w/ 23x10.5-12's drawbar hitch is 10" off grade elevation,,,

Jason W.
Anything that's in the Allied catalog is fine to post here.
If it's not, but still offered by IH for Cubs, it's ok here.

Anything else really should go in the Off Topic or Sandbox sections.

I'm wondering if Josh got the correct tiller belt for his 127.
And I love tubes for leaking beads, have to get 2 for my #2 cart

Well decided to get some V61's for the front of the 982 in hopes of easing my steering troubles. Let's hope I made the right choice.

Mike P,
Congrats on the new rubber decision,,,
When you get them bad boys strapped on and loaded down w/ that big oLe blower don't forget to let us know any performance changes you encounter,,,
thumbsup.gif

My 149 is definitely no 982 and sw Ohio hasn't seen huge amounts of the white death in quite a few years now,
so I'm currently shopping for a blade instead of a blower,,, regardless of our tractor & attachment differences your feedback on the 5rib's is greatly anticipated!!!
