Dipstick....

You don't really need the proper dipstick -- but it helps!

Austin, if you want to push dirt I wouldn't go past 42 on either a narrow frame or wide frame. Traction will be a limiting factor for either machine.

Austin - please please please don't go shortening a 54" blade. I'm sure you'd be able to find someone to trade with for a 42" and probably get some moola with it

Oh the Great Dipstick Debate - I know we handle things pretty informal around here so I wanted you all to see this.

Dipstick according to Google:
dip·stick
noun: dipstick; plural noun: dipsticks
1.
a graduated rod for measuring the depth of a liquid, especially oil in a vehicle's engine.
2.
informal
a stupid or inept person.

Tim - I hadn't heard of alemite previously but I did find this interesting tidbit.

Who invented the Zerk fitting?
Oskar Zerkowitz emigrated to the United States and changed his name to "Oscar Ulysses Zerk". He was also known as "Oscar V. Zerk". He became a world-famous inventor and one of his most prominent creations was a grease fitting known as "the zerk".

If this really interests you then have a look see at this story in Farm Collector and see why it should really be called a "Bystricky"
