Tryin' to stir things up here a bit.

Here are the guys that I've been working this week to get some collards, turnips, cabbage, and broccoli in the ground. The mower will have it's turn soon as a cleanup.

It's a small patch but it will keep me busy.

I went to the redpower auction in Litchfield Mn and drug a 123 home. When I had them load it the loader operator said "You wouldn't believe how this got hauled in". I'll let you be the judge. The little cub had to hold on tight! Will be a good parts rig for me.

That is pretty cool Nate, talk about having to hang on or get left behind!!!

So since I can't get out of the soybean fields long enough. Need to pick someone's brain. Stock 782 & 982 IH built, are the spindle sizes the same or is the 982 larger? Still trying to get the 982 steering better with blower on it. Was thinking of putting tri-ribs on front? Have some on the 782 I could test out pretty cheap. But looking at Miller Tire site this morning they do not make bigger tri-ribs! So anyone use V's on front with that much weight!?? Trying to see if that is an option instead of power steering??

Thought?? Experiences??

Nate, Now that is CooL,,, Nice pics

Wayne, sometimes all you need is a little encouragement to get your confidence level back to where it should be,,, between both, You & Earl's comments, won't be long before pics of the K321A's innards are all over this thread,,,,

I'm gonna try the sponsors above for rebuild kits that have the springs and "ALL" the o-rings,,, cuz whoever "SOLDERED" the top of that one relief Roasted the plunger o-ring pretty darn good!!! Tacking the hats back on shouldn't be no problem once I get the rebuild kits!!!

RPM Adjustment:
I am trying to bring the RPM on my 129 up to the suggested speed of 3600. I have adjusted the governor shaft/arm, adjusted the high speed needle on the carb, and I have shortened the carb linkage as much as it will allow. The max RPM that I can get is just under 3000. To make the linkage shorter, I will have to cut a piece of the rod as it is hitting the end of the cap.
Does anyone have an idea of what I am missing.
I noticed on the diagram there is a high speed stop. I am missing the high speed stop, so that should not be an issue.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Jim L -

I've been thinking about your "Hydro Valves spraying Hytran out the top",,,,,

Now that I've opened the 1250 valves up it's more clear "to me anyway" that the only possible scenario that could cause such a thing would be:

#1 Hydro Pressure Greater than Steve's mention of 625psi,,, per service manual,,,,

310194.jpg

The 1,000psi pressure gauge is quick easy check,,,

My 149 was spot on except for the deadhead max pressure reading,,,

-----------------------------

Idle was at 100psi

310195.jpg

------------------------------

WOT 200psi

310196.jpg

--------------------------------

And then this is where fell off a bit,,, WOT Hydro lift deadhead pressure 450psi, just below the Service Manual 500-625psi

310197.jpg

The pressure check will atLeast let you know where you stand pressure wise,,,
thumbsup.gif

----------------------------------------

And if pressures check out ok then:

#2 would have to be what Earl F mentioned about defective "New" or "Rebuilt" valves,,,,
o-ring on plunger just below top of valve,,,,

310198.jpg

I've been looking at rebuild kits for these valves and Many don't include the small internall plunger o-ring,,,,

Good Luck,,,, Hope you get it sorted out,,, can't wait 2 see pics of that Awesome Loader in Action!!!!

Earl,
It doesn't matter how short you make the throttle linkage. Your not going to pull it any further "wide open". The balance weights on the governor gear will, by design, always bring the carb back to a spot where it will not spin faster than where it is set.

You have to adjust where it is set on the governor shaft. Put all the other stuff back where it goes, and follow the service manual for setting the initial governor setting. Start from scratch, not from broken.
