DALE M. NICE looking 70. Hope Mine looks that good someday. Question on the decals, Are they new CC decals? I bought a set a year or two ago for my 70 when I heard they were going "NLA_(I hate those letters!) And the model number decals are not like the factory ones. The IH CC decals & steering console & headlite panel are fine.
The ones on the tractor are in good shape, I could have them reproduced but that's $$$$.

I also got a set for my 72, my 28 yr old rattle can paint job is showing it's age. They're closer to factory than the 70's decals, only difference is the blue is quite a bit darker, darker than original I'm sure, but I like it better so they're going on when I repaint.

Ryan, I will be doing the brakes on the 106 in a short while, which has external brakes. I have noticed that my pads are riveted on. I will just drill out the old rivets and put new ones in when I get the new pads. I may just get the glue on kind and put them in a shop press under light pressure till the glue is set.

Dennis F,
Dale has the correct decals on his 70. On The cc ones the zeros are more oval shaped while the correct ones are more rectangular. Madsen's should have the correct ones. I talked to Scott back in 2000, right after I found this site. At the time he didn't realize the CC ones were wrong. He had some old stock leftovers since the 70 and 100 use the same set. He sent me a pair of 100s for my tractor, but he sent them to his decal supplier to be copied first. He also has the IH for the seat spring which is omitted in the CC kit.

Josh,

I don't know the size or brand of the tires. I remember buying them from the equipment dealer at which I worked in the mid-1990s. They were expensive, maybe $80-$100 each. I'll have my Dad check them out when I talk to him next and let you know.

Dennis,
Maple Hunter is the decal guy that is at Edgarton every year. He's usually just outside of one of the metal buildings.

Looking at the 1X9 decal sets that CC Specialties has, the "0"'s appear to be the correct squared off, not oval shape..

I like Maple-Hunter, too. $34 for the set for my 100, plus $6 for the '10hp' decals for the gas tank. High-quality stuff, too.

Kendell-

Not sure what that has to do with the shape of the numbers on a 70/100 decal set...?...

I just pulled the front pto clutch off of the 106. I am suprised any thing was even still working right. I noticed it was making a lot of noise. One clutch finger fell off in my hand, one is in my cupboard in the kitchen, kid found it in the yard the other day. Missing one spring, a couple of nuts, and the main pulley was missing one set screw. Plus the bolt for the s/g ground off to almost nothing. Now I get to piece it all back together and hope for the best!

The tires are Cheng-Shins. He said the size was 6x12. It appears the only thing close is part number G238122 which is a 6x12 4-ply lug tire. I though my Father said the tire was 6-ply, so perhaps the 6-ply is NLA. None of the tire supply sites I found displayed an actual photo of the tire, just a generic graphic. So I can't compare to what is on the cub. I am also interested in finding another pair for my 100, as they have been great tires. They may have been a little too wide for the narrow deck, but the wider deck worked fine with them.
