Mike, that's a great question. I only have an Original and a bunch of narrow frame Cub Cadets so I have no idea.

It varies on the exact setup you have.
Average is around 27 1/2 to 28 1/2".
I bought a batch of 20 NOS ones years ago and had 3 different lengths in the lot that came from the same closed dealer.
Tire size, bracket style, lift bracket style and so on.
The best thing to do is mount it up, put a 2x4 under the front tires with the blade on the ground and measure hole to hole and go from there.
 
Hmmmm. Ok. Will see what I come up with. Have to get the deck off it and chain it up too. Hoping to get some top soil moved before it freezes up again. Most of the snow is gone so I can at least see what ground I have to move now!

Hmmm - I'm not so sure about using a clevis at both ends. Back when I was using a lift rod for my blade and snow thrower I noticed the rod would flex outward, away from the side panels on my 1450, when I was using the blade. I believe the clevis is cast material and might just crack/break. Although Mike C has noted no problems with his rod moving stone/dirt, I think "ramming" snow or snow piles might just result in the flex I saw and might break a clevis. My solution was to cut a standard lift rod, thread the cut ends and add a turn buckle. This allowed me to make a slight change in the length (shorten about 1" if I recall) when switching from the 42" blade to the 42" thrower. And I think the only thing it really did was allow me to raise the thrower a little higher - and almost hit the nose of my cast aluminum upper grill housing on my 1450.
 
Hydro - You're slippin' man !

They are forged , my Dad use to work for Crosby in Longview , Tx where they made those sort of things.
I've got a few Crosby chain hooks and turn buckles and load binders.

Hey KenTUCK - naw I ain't slipping (got no snow here neither). No one said anything about using a forged Made in the USA clevis, until I said something. You know lots of stuff you get at the hardware store these days has those little stickers that say Made in China. No where near the stuff your Dad made down in Longview, TX. The ones in Mike C's pics look pretty substantial and likely forged, but we gotta be more specific with details on here.
 
I found why one of my front wheels was leaning, the bearings aren't even holding it.
I having a issue with adjusting my hydro, I did the cam bracket. But adjusting it makes it go forward or reverse, it will not stay still. Do I have to adjust my clevis on my brake pedal? It says in the FAQ do not let the return to neutral max out, but it kinda does max out. I think I adjusted it where it didnt max out and still creeped backwards.

Mike C - nice McMas item and I see it is forged.

Austin - I sorta figured your front wheel bearings might be sloppy. Hopefully you're able to peen the wheel tubing a little so the bearings will stay snug. Make sure your bearing are still good before re-installing.
Now, about your hydro creep - as much as the hydro is near and dear to me I really can't advise you on the adjustments. There are a couple guys on here that are near experts in that stuff so hopefully they'll address the problems you're encountering.
 
Just in case you need to trim back the 18 to 20 foot trees along your driveway! LOL

Man, if I could just borrow that for about 30mins, my back tree line would look awesome!

That's the only reason I have ever wanted a sickle bar. But I wasn't sure it would operate in the vertical position. (Obviously those are 2-cycle jobs hacked together...)
 
The stack bracket is also beefy. Funny, I want to run that now! Did it come from a poor municipalitiy by chance?

One by me still runs their IH 682 around the shop. On its fourth engine... A k301 from a 1250. From what one guy said I figure they kept with the series 1 for at least first replacement.
