Does anyone know the material specifications on the bronze bushings used in the axle housings of the 1X2 tractors? I found a place that has the correct size but have several different specifications. They are NLA from Cub Cadet.

Doug-
Are you talking about the bushing that is in the rear axle housings of the later 7hp tractors? (71, 72, 73) If so, it may make sense to just replace the whole axle tube with one from another tractor, as the 102/122/123 version went to a bearing, which is a much better design and should bolt right up.

Steve- The early 102 and 122 had bushings also. When they came out with the 123 they went to bearings. I did get a set of tubes off of a 1200 and put them on but when I bought them I didn't know they where aluminum and forgot to ask. Only saw pictures. I thought I'd put it back to original some day but I guess with a little paint no one would know but me. It will never be a 100 pointer so maybe I'm over thinking it.

Charlie, Isn't that the same decal that was used on the plastic wheel weights?

Frank - gol dang it to Pete, you can stack those pellets out back and put the cubs in your cellar. The pellets are in nice protective bags but you can cover them with a tarp. Then you can work on the cubs in your cellar just like you did that gas tank. I know a cub will fit thru a bilco door too - BTDT.
Hope you didn't have to many spuds on Turkey Day

I have a lead on a 4 digit "O".
I know I've seen it a dozen times, but what is the difference in the front cast iron axle?
This should be on the FAQ.
Kraig buddy.....any pics?

Shultzie, I can tell you that early O's had a thinner front axle than the later ones and @ 10332 front spindle change from collars to 7/16 bolts

This is on a 4 digit I came across a few weeks ago. It has the thinny one.
