The moon this evening is rather nice.

Thanks. It's a little blurry but at 30x zoom and hand held it didn't turn out too bad. I should have grabbed a tripod but was too lazy.

Brian, thanks.

OK, here's 3 better photos of the moon I took a short while ago. I used a mono-pod this time to steady the camera. I had to wait between shots for clouds to pass by. (note, I also didn't reduce the size of the photos as much as the one I posted at the bottom of the page. That's why they are bigger, not due to more lens zoom.)

For comparison, here's a photo of the moon with no zoom. The other photos below were with 30x optical zoom.

Craig, thanks.

Shultzie, on my monitor it looked brighter. I brightened it up for you.

Shultzie, yes but you have the really nice fire pit in your photo.

All, Pictures are really nice. And to think there has only been 12 people walk up there too - kind of humbling. I love taking pics also but just have gotten out of the habit.

Did I miss something? WHAT left the Cubs alone, WHERE?

Frank that was taken from a helicopter after the Washington, Ill tornados a couple of weeks back. There was more to the photo but I cut it out due to people in picture.

If I had to guess, I would say that the recent tornados left those cubbies mostly intact. It even appears that Mother Nature was interested in what's under the hood.
