I'm new to the forum guys so thanks for letting me join up. I do have a problem I need a little help with if someone has the information. About a year ago I bought a Cub Cadet Model 1450 for $800. It looks really good because it has been repainted in the usual CC color scheme and has an all new set of decals on it. It also runs really well. This tractor came with a front mounted spring break blade for which I think I have all of the parts. What I don't have are instructions, or clue for that matter, to tell me how it is installed and what items other than the mower deck will have to be removed to get the job done. Any help and preferably pictures of this operation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Randy. the tiller from the 105 will fit the 109. you will need a different belt and a different belt guide wire to bolt under the rearend. if you don't have a sleeve hitch on the back of the 109 you'll need one to attach the tiller. the sleeve hitch from the 105 will not fit the 109. a spring lift assist will be mighty handy lifting the tiller. they are pretty heavy

the difference in wide frame and narrow frame is veiwed by the area around the engine. the NF stays straight while the WF flares out

Thanks to Digger for his info on the float pin setup and Steve for his FAQ on the plow setup. I am now plowing like a pro.

Bruce,
Welcome to the forum.
Thankfully for us all, one can still get complete owners manuals for these tractors. Scroll up to this page and pic on one of the advertisers. Binder Books will have it, so will Carter/Grunewald and Madsons.

Bruce H,
Lets hope you are not on dialup!

Just a little PSA here!
Anyone that even thinks about dealing with tirechain.com, DON'T, THEY ARE IMHO A$$HOLES and will not even consider dealing with you if you have a question, need information or want something other than to pay them. And after you do that, they don't want to hear from you again! Typical east coast type attitudes!

The oil in the diff area was leaking a bit. So I popped off the back cover, tons of oil! Anyways, what kind do I replace it with? It kinda smells like candy or something.

Thanks everyone for the help with the pulley. Located one thanks to Digger. Hopefully the rest of the tiller setup will go off without a hitch now.

Not exactly sure of the model or year. Its early 70's and just has a basic paint scheme, white, yellow, and blue without the model markings on the hood. it has an electric switch for the pto and a 12 hp engine, no headlights, wide frame, and 3 speed. the clutch is similar to that of the 64' model 100

I'm in a bit of a dilema. I have the chance to get a beat up, but running, original model for $400 ($525 including shipping) or I could go the other way and get a 128 or a 105, better shape but need work, from a friend of the family. and both is not an option. help me out here guys

Jeffrey I -

You might also want to make yourself familiar with question number 6 in the aforementioned (and mentioned at the top of this page and the signup e-mail that you got from here) FAQ. Plenty of clutch pictures, including step by step instructions are included in the shop manuals.

Jeffrey,
You need to buy a service manual. Its only $30 or so from the one of the sponsors or your local IH dealer.

With that being said.

Jeffrey I,
Since you didn't say what options the original has I'd go for the 128 any day over the O.
