No the 125 has not been fitted with the replacement pan YET! You know I have never come close to running out of diesel fuel in the 1512. The dang think will run for at least 18 hrs on 1.75 gallons. but have bleed the filter and pump to get it running. It will sputter some at wot till the air clears .

Nf sub frames are mostly all the same are they not? I know pin on and some other specials can need different sub frames. Fill us in

On the previous page we talked about engine rpms and safety with flywheels. From the factory the rated speeds will provide a worry- free situation, it is what happens afterwards that is the real cause for concern.

As these engines grow older, remember that the flywheel may have been removed already several times. How it is handled becomes crucial.
a) Was it hammered on to remove it by some PO?
b) Are charging magnets missing? (later units)
c) Broken/missing cooling fins?
d) welding or repairs?

These are some serious concerns. There are many more. So when you remove a flywheel, never drop it on the workbench or floor, set it down easy.

Always use an approved puller when taking one off, not the ol' hammer and prybar,ok?

Always clean the taper of any oil, grease and dirt; for it to run "true" this is critical.

It is good that people are aware of the inherent dangers because cast material does become weaker with age. The factory made those with a safety factor figured in for long life; it's all in what happened afterwards...

Denny, my dyno is at work, I don't own one

. With my turbo diesel 1782 puller I can turn that Yanmar about 6400 but of course I have a billet steel flywheel and plenty of saftey guarding. I wouldn't even think about cast iron at that speed!

Nice to see another 100 runnin' around.
Question? When ever I go to fit a belt between the front PTO and the PTO button, I have to unbolt the grille casting to fit the belt through. Do you have that with your 100?

Finally decided to get serious about doing some sandblasting on those old cubs. Those wimpy little compressors just don't cut it. All I have to do is wire it up and hook some ammenities onto the output valve and i'm ready. Is IR close to IH?
If a 5HP/80Gal. two stage compressor don't put out enough CFM's to sandblast, I'll quit!

That sucker sure is heavy(600lbs.). Especially when I had to unload it and get it in the basement by myself without turning it over!

Kraig must be busy today. To help Donald Tanner and others out, I'm posting the undercarriages as they are depicted in each of the manuals to which Kraig posted links.

Of course the manual shots only hint of the variety which can be found in the field . . .

Edit: Marty, welcome to the club of HD Compressor owners. I lost my grip trying to get my new one off the pallet, it took me down in a cold rain. I haven't gotten the electricity run yet, I'm still mulling over the various plumbing options. There is a thread in the machine shop and I think another in the Sandbox on Air Compressors and the struggles of the like of Kentucky Ken and NC's own Wayne Shytle as well as others who have "gotten serious" about their air supply over the years, I think even Kraig has posted there.

I think I remove the PTO clutch adjusting rod to put a belt on.

That is a real nice IC compressor. I think the trick is to run air lines up hight around the whole shop so the line does not dead end. doing that allows air to get to the drop you are using from two sources. This gives you the best air supply. Every drop can have a drain to dump the water from the pipe. I think one drain will work if the opposite away from the compressor is the lower so it collects all the moisture. here is some reading for you .http://www.ecompressedair.com/library-pages/compressed-air-systems.aspx

Thanks for posting that, I did not have the time today to look into it,Been a crazy day today.

Has anyone tried or put a 44in mowing deck under a 100 cub cadet? Thanks,Joey.

Could have used some wheel weights getting the load out of there!
Well what's left of it anyway
Lost another of my evergreens today, tha last one on the place. Oh well, a least I got 3 nice logs out of it.

About time we get some pictures!
Good to see that 1000 in action.

I do believe you have Yellow Fever!

Guess what the ONE make of garden tractor I didn't see hide nor hair of at the junkyard? Yep, Cub cadet. the only IH thing I saw was one of those rear engine lawn tractors with the fiberglass body, and that looked to be in sad shape.

Hello all- I found a (relatively) local Craigslist ad for a 123. I've emailed the guy, but he said the "The back wheels are locked up." He added that someone tried to push it while it was in gear. Could the hydro be completely shot?

More than likely the relief valve flapper is broken/missing and the valves if they are the manual style are stuck up.
Go look at it and reach up under the tunnel area and feel if the buttons are up or down.

I've pulled or had pulled more than one hydro with no issues.
I pulled my standby 1450 3 miles at 10+ MPH with the Tahoe once and it's still kickin!

Charlie, I remember your 1450 getting pulled a little faster than 10 mph at a plow day once. That 4 wheeler was really moving when it pulled you into the pits.

Tom H,
Good find. You don't find or see many yellow and white ones in the original "shipping crate"

Paul,
You bet. All I can say is I didn't get it for the $12.50 marked on th box either.
