This maybe the dumbest question I've asked so far but here it goes....what sizes are the belts that go from the front pto down the mule and out to the mower deck on my 125.Also what size is the belt on my mower deck?Do I need to grab a measurement of the deck itself to determine which I need?

I have fallen into the same trap. I think it was leaking hydro valves.

I did the same with the same belt on my 1200 last year. I read it should be a 3/8 thick belt but my darn memory said"No way!"
