Has anyone had any trouble running a 50 inch deck with a 109 or is it too big, I havent tried it yet but plan on using a 109 for a grass cutter.

I do have a 44 inch deck if it the 10hp wont handle the 50"

JEFF - On a 10 HP Hydro I think a 44 in deck would work fine, you could go slow and let the deck mow really nice.

A 50" may be pushing it if the grass gets a little tall, say you're mowing more than an inch or so off. Plus 50" decks are VERY wide.... they don;t fit many places in my yard at least.

Sound's like Charlie's in a pretty good/mellow mood this morning. Must be the nice spring weather forecast:

Jeff, I pretty much agree with Dennis. I would not say that a 109 would not pull a 50" since it is a hydro, you can always find a speed for the job. I have 50" decks on my 129 and 149. It pushes the 129 to it's limit often. The 149 is more suited for that deck. Also if the 50" deck does not have the front gauge wheels, you will not be happy with the cut

Quick question. On a narrow frame, the button for the deck lift, mine is missing and wanted to know if it screws onto the rod. The spring is still there. It the little things that drive me crazy. Just bought a 72 and a 149. WF came with deck, weights, front blade, brinley plow and #2 cart! All for under 1000.00 the 72 was 200 and runs great after a carb rebuild. Thanks guys.
