Morning all, well just got a call from my local body shop. i took the rear 129 fenders there to have them sprayed (painted) and they called and ask for more paint

. well i gave him what i thought would be lots ( 3/4 quart).Seems at the rate he uses paint the gallon i have here won`t finish the 129. Have a great day all . later Don T

Mornin' y'all... May be a silly question, but on a rattle can paint job, NOT stripping and priming, how many cans to do 2 coats, approx?
This is a 122, and just need the amount of Yellow cans I need ta buy.
 
Keith- I'm the grinding 122 guy- If the clutch isnt releasing enough, could that just be an adjustment needed or should I split eng trans and clean/ lube? Thanks! Dave

Before splitting the tractor, try just unbolting the engine and doing as Matt suggested with lubing the pilot bushing and when you bolt it back up make sure it's good and square to the drive shaft and check if there is binding. Also, make sure your clutch is adjusted correctly per the manual.

Keith thanks for the advice and the pdf manuals!To lube the pilot bushing would I just scoot the engine forward and squirt lube in there, would I need to expose the tip of he input shaft ? I know I dont want to contaminate the clutch disc...
 
DAVID - I have the best luck using Anti-Sieze to lube the clutch pilot bearing. It doesn't seem to "Melt" with heat like grease or oil. There's no real load on the pilot bearing and it only runs when the clutch is disengaged. It also doesn't seem to attract dust/dirt like grease.

CHARLIE - Couple Case/IH/New Holland dealers I go to have shelves of parts & stuff but not quite that much anymore. Place Dad used to get most of His IH parts back in the 1960's had the WHOLE IH line, AG, small light-duty trucks up to Ton or Ton and a Half, Little Construction equip, and fridges & deep freezers. There would be a couple Cub Cadets, a SWB pickup, a deep freeze & Fridge, and all kinds of seasonal parts in the showroom, Plus racks & racks of brochures! Sure wish I knew where all the HUGE boxes of brochures I had as a Kid went!?!?! I had stuff from the late 1950's, 350/450 Farmall vintage to early 1970's vintage, 756/856/1256/1456 vintage and several other brands & colors. Only thing I have left is a brochure on 3010/4010 JD's. Whoppie! Should put it on E-pay!
 
Don T. If they did not spill it or "borrow" it perhaps they are painting with a straw broom and it was soaked up. That's all I can think of.
