Dennis, Scott, Steve, and others - the whole parts and prices thing is all over the board. For those that aren't aware IH and CCC sold/sell Kohler parts to their dealers and some/many of the their same dealers are authorized Kohler dealers. Kohler uses authorized distributors to supply their authorized dealers. What does all this mean? Well, sometimes the IH or CCC price to their dealer to you for a Kohler part is less than the Kohler Distributor to Kohler dealer to you, and sometimes it's more. If you have a good dealer he'll check both ways and give you the best price. I've mentioned before it took me awhile but I eventually discovered my 1st CCC dealer was charging me 150% of MSRP for CCC parts, and I think the Kohler parts. I also found out the Kohler "Distributors" set prices to their authorized dealers so in different states you can actually get different prices. I've had this put to me couple different ways by dealers - one being "he's selling it over MSRP" and another being "he's selling it below my cost". I'm certain same thing applies to JD and other brands using same parts. So, it may pay to shop around a little. Having said all this I'd also like to add some of the sponsors on here have the best prices I've found for both new and used CC and Kohler parts.

Well!
If you ever get around Floyd S's place in Clear Water Mn. Make DANG SURE you take a trailer along to make sure Floyd gets all the stuff he no longer wants out of his barn, LOL.
And he's one heck of a GOOD GUY, BUT you have to watch him close cause he puts stuff on that you don't want! And then says, OOPS! to late, it's already loaded.

Charlie - can't quite make out the vehicle pulling the trailer, but I think I see a grease gun on the floor. Is that the kind of stuff you're talking about? I see a couple pretty new tires under a sweatshirt as well. Based on some of the other stuff I see I'm guess Floyd ran across some special priced green paint. Nice haul.

Charlie,
That's beautiful. Kinda chokes me up a bit. . . .

Charlie - nice trailer full of stuff. Is that some green scrap metal in the trailer too...

I'm just curious, what are you folks doing with all these CC tractors? I've been reading/searching the archives and it looks like many have been on this forum for a LOT of years. I realize you've probably got some tractors that are always keepers, but what about the rest of them you acquire/restore over the years? Are you keeping them, selling, trading?

Just curious.

Thanks!!!!!!
Bill

Harry,
Every vehicle I own has a grease gun in it as well as every piece of equipment. Grease is your friend ya know.

Every time I buy I have it in mind to part a lot of it out.
BUT, once I get'um home and get'um running, I just can't. Sooooo, It's called my collection.

I'm thinking about having a swap/show/sell/trade/BS day up my way probably the last week in September after all the other shows are done.
That way I can maybe thin out the herd and some left over clutter/tractors/parts and general under foot stuff. LOL

I don't want to run out of storage space to quick!

Bill,
I sold my first 124 and parted my 147. Poor decisions on my part. I still own a 100 and an Original. The 100 is my work horse. I really like it. I hope to own another 147 some day.

Bill J - well, lets see. I may have mentioned before but in short, I've owned, repaired, restored about 25 units over the years I lived in CT (no Originals and no '82 series, but most everything in between). I got so I couldn't stand to use one after it was restored since it was so pretty - I'd have to sell it and use the funds to buy another one or two or three. I generally had about 10 tractors at any one time in various condition. Although IH developed the "Quick Attach Latch" most guys, including me, got so every attachment had to have it's own tractor. This is especially apparently with Charlie. As you can tell from his recent post, if he just wants to go for a drive he'll use the tractor with the umbrella canopy, and that's probably all it gets used for. So, you better start catching up, growing your herd of CC's (I'd certainly recommend close ties with your neighbor which is probably easier than convincing your wife).

I also got all the original paperwork, manuals and receipts plus stuff printed out from the forum, cubfaq.com, WFM, Simple tractors and even some of Paul Bells stuff download off the web.

You might get a kick out of this too, it was in the folder.

I still say that the 147 and the 1450 are the 2 best IH made Cubs going, with the 123 coming in 3rd just because of the hydro control setup. You'll be hard pressed to find a smoother operating hydro around.
