What a beautiful day in Aroostook County!! (Google it, there's only one). Brought the 123's that have been hibernating all winter out for some sun and cosmetic work. They said they looked and felt so much better that they'd like to have you guys see them. Didn't want to go too far -- afraid of getting their tires dirty and tracking mud back into the CubHouse. Girls! Rhoda (on the right) I sold to a good friend last summer with the promise I'd add headlights and babysit her for the winter. Yorkie is my present #1 123. Just ordered headlight panel decals for both of them from Mike Masheris. SPRING FEVER!!!

And now, with DST, I can spend some more time out there. Should I have started with Dear Diary?

Well, I made it back from my trip Saturday. It took till today to get straightened out. That 1000+ mile trip through the rain and horrible traffic wore me out. It was worth it to be able to bring my latest toy home.
I would like to thank Wes for selling it to me. He is a super nice guy. Here is a photo of him standing beside the cub all wrapped up for the trip.

Well I still cant find anything wrong with my shifter assembly even after reading those links. The only thing I notice is that inverted cup thingy (part #7 in the exploded view) rotates a bit on the shaft, but since the spring is attached to it there I presume its supposed to. It does not flop around, and in fact I never noticed any difference whatsoever in how the shifter felt before or after losing all my gears.

What is the best way to remove the decal from the hood? I am hoping to get it off without disturbing the paint.

Steal your wife's hair dryer to take that decal off. Keep it back about 4 to 6" or so depending on how hot it gets.

What is the best way to turn the exaust pipe
coming out of the block mine is frozen

Donald t, I realy like you 129 with the loader
did you make the loader.

A hair dryer to remove a hood decal? Really? I'm serious, really? Aimed at the decal or from behind it? Don T.: remember this conversation when you were here and mayonaisse was suggested? Didn't work. Those decals and the seat trims are practically indestructivly permanent! Could a good hood decal be saved with this heat/removal trick? Would a Super Hair Dryer (AKA) paint removal gun work? I'm about 10 minutes from finding out by myself!

now that the snow has completely gone, its time i drag my first of two fun project tractors out of storage. one is my second 1966 123, its fate was going to be a parts tractor until i got an engine to repower it with. the new engine is a 2000 briggs vanguard 11hp(it has the genset crankshaft, lowoil shutdown, and fixed throttle speed so its about useless for anything else). my second project is a '67 or '68 model 72 with a bad k241. over the weekend i bought a k141 to drop in so i can use the tractor for shows and make it look correct. this new engine has the under-flywheel mag, but i might change it to battery ignition so the thing is right and so i can use the lights.

i only have pics of the 123 currently. this is a before and hopefully after shot when im done. i guess this is the last time it can be shown on this board, it will have to go on the better than OEM now, even though i dont know if it really will be better, just different lol
