Rick, part #3's function is to attach the lift bar, part#4, to the rockshaft/lift arm.

Hmm, OK.

I'll be glad when the manuals get here. I don't have access to another machine to use as a reference in the interim. And my dumb butt (tm) didn't think to get a shot of someones setup on Saturday.

2 mounts between the frame

5 connects to 4 and 2 which runs forward to the implement lift handle (same as the mowing deck).

7 comes off and then remounted with 6 between it and the transaxle.

It's like building models all over again! ;)

Did the 105 typically have a Walbro carb? Dad has his at the farm 100 miles away, and I am trying to help him figure out the info so he can call Scott Madson and get the right kit. My 1450 w/Kohler carb had a 'K' on the choke plate, but I know that this 105 doesn't have that.

Ryan,
I ran out and looked at mine and I think it's original to the tractor and it's a Kohler carb. But I have a neighbor that bought his 105 new and his has a Walbro.

Ryan, AFAIK the 105 should have come with a factory Kohler carb, if the engine was replaced it may have a Walbro. I believe the engine Spec number is supposed to tell them which carb it originally came with.

Charlie, did your neighbor ever replace the engine? My 125 that my parents bought new has a walbro carb, but the engine was replaced in the mid 80's.

the Walbro fixed jet carbs started to show up in the early 80's as a replacement part. anything cub cadet put on in the 60's & 70's had the adjustable hi speed main jet. if it don't have the adjustable hi speed main then it had a carb change somewhere along the line

thinking aboput changing my profile quote from "belts are alrigt for holding up your pants" to "24 hours in a day , 24 cans of beer in a case. coincidence? I don't think so"

Charlie, yes but the 105 was made in 1968/69 it should have come with a Kohler. AFAIK the Walbro would be on the later replacement engines. That chart covers all the Kohler K- series from the K161 in 1960 (or earlier) all the way to the last one made. The Operator's manual for the 1x4/5 only shows the Kohler carb. I would assume that if IH had versions of the 1x4/5 with the Walbro carb the manual should show it. Even a IH Kohler service manual (dated April 1984) only shows the Kohler version of the Carb. Of course I shouldn't assume anything.........)

Cool, I think Don just confirmed what I was trying to prove.)

Don, you could be on to something. But your theory doesn't explain what 12 packs and 6 packs be for?

Kraig - daylight savings time?

Well, I recall that the 105 carb had 2 adjustment screws on it, one at noon, and one at the the 3 o'clock (looking at air cleaner). Guess it is the original carb.

i was power washing the house today in preparation for painting, so these two got a bath. i figured i would snap some pics.

Charlie,

" What are these really called other than Service Manual Binders"

Would that be a Binder binder?
