pics of my 147. My first "big" fendered CC other than 82 series. I have added sleeve hitch, tiller gear box, 10.50 Carlisle's w/ weights, & tri rib fronts. This will be my plow tractor and maybe will be used for tiller if my 125 is down. Sorry pics are small. I need to get a little photo advice.

JB,

Repair manual is Briggs part number CE8020 "Twin Cylinder L Head Repair Manual".

582 engine codes are as follows:
Model = 402437
Type = 0698-01
Code = (My engine was 84040612)

Whole engine series is 400400, 402400, 404400, and 422400.

I am keeping my manual as a reference, but they are cheap enough at any Briggs parts dealer.

Wayne, the cultivator that Ray is using is an Agri-Fab model 45-0264 Row Crop Cultivator. I believe that one is this exact one in the photos below. Not just the same model but "the" same one. I sold it to Ray back in 2002. Ray painted it IH white.

Last weekend Chris E. and I did some trading and Cub work. In the process I made some upgrades to my 2072. At the risk of winding up Charile, I'm posting them here, as they can be used on other models too.

Rear light:

I added a cat 0 3 point and lost the mounting location for my 35W flood light/rear work light in the process. I went searching for something that would provide some light, but not be in the way and found these LED's at Auto Zone in the car accessory isle. They don't put out quite as much light as the 35W incandescent, but for no bigger than it is, it lights up the hitch and rear implement well.

Also, when I added the 3 pt., I welded a sleeve hitch style lower hitch to the bottom of the 3 pt. mounting plate, complete with ears to the rear end supports for strength. By welding tabs to a std sleeve hitch adapter (or even just drilling holes), the 3 pt. tugs will lift the sleeve hitch adapter just like the original IH 3pt did. This makes for the ultimate in universal rear hitches....use any type of implement you want....

(Sometimes plows don't work as well on Cat 0 3pts as they do on sleeve hitches....they walk around side to side alot and can be hard to adjust on 3pt adapters)

This would be an easy addition to Aaron's hitches for both SGT's and the GT's...hint, hint

The sleeve hitch will also serve as the lower mounting for my QA tiller (similar to the 782D adapter)...a #2 with extra extensions on each side and bearing blocks at the end plates

NOrm,

Those Mag twin boxer engines are fat and low...

240556.jpg

NOt good for a tall IH wide frame designed for a single.

Keith E. put a Briggs V-twin in a 149 a few years back and it required frame cutting similar to a 147, although not as much as a Mag would due to the V block design.

Not going to wind me up.
But if the OFF TOPIC crap continues, I'll just start POOFING post, not a problem for me.

......to get the train back on the rails.....

Chris also took home one of my (former) toys as part of the "dealing"....

Kraig-

Thanks for the great pics (as usual). I hope this isn't the off topic Charlie is talking about. It would probably fit better in the garden thread though. That's a nice little implement I haven't seen much of.

Sorry Charlie!

About the Cub on the roof, I thought Kraig would be able to use his computer to zoom in on that thing and read the serial number and analyze finger prints like they do on CSI.

You can't see it in the picture but the loader on the "O" had some almost convincing IH decals on it.

Back a few years ago someone posted some pics of a tool they made to assist in removing Spirol pins (maybe Hydro?). Could you send me pics or post them again? Also, PLEASE give me permission to attempt to copy your idea and make my own.

I don't always copy ideas, a few weeks back I made a PTO bearing puller from scratch. Worked perfectly but looked like 20 miles of mud road. I was so embarrassed I tossed it.

Thanks
