This probably helped sales of the 1100.

That and a 11HP engine.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your advice. Just want to let you know that my 782 Hydro is running again. The linkage is repaired, and the Cub has new fluid and filter.

The tractor still has a minor problem. During the 1st 5-10 minutes of operation (i.e. when tractor is cold), the hydro jerks. I have to drive slow until it "warms up", then it's okay.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

WAYNE W. - Watch where & how You point that RAYTEC temp gun. They're REALLY susceptable to electro-magnetic radiation and I fryed a circuit board in Mine several years ago while checking temps on a running Kohler engine. Cost almost as much to fix as buying a new one.

Art - I couldn't keep the messy garage clean so I sold the house.

Charlie!
Are you questioning the quality of the 1100?Are you making fun of them?I don't think I can take much more of this.

Funny though how many posts there have been on the 1100 when it is a GARDEN TRACTOR we are not even supposed to talk about.
Bryan would you please "Poof" any futher discussions of the 1100 before we have to give it acceptable status on the Forum.

Pipe,
WHAT!
I was showin Boner that it's still a Cub cept for the rearend. That and the fact that the creeper was standard.
When I hammer on somethin, you'll damn well know it!

Personally, I'm wondering if that creeper is the same one they used on older Cubs, Guess I'll have to do some diggin.

Jim K.- (from previous page)

Thanks for the tip, I'll see if the belt is loose. I don't think that is the problem though, it seems to be coming from the hydro itself but the belt tension is easy to check so I'll try that first.

Charlie et al!
Posts should have been followed by LOL.All was tongue-in-cheek.

Would that tranny be the same one that was used on the 582 Special?

Had a real interesting Cub weekend. Pictures to follow tonight when I get a chance to download them off the camera...

Yea Art,
what do ya think about a guy with 2 Cubs in tow that would drive right by your house and not stop?

Brian J., good to see you posting again. Nice place you have there! Nice Cub Shed too, what is that 12x16?

John P., I must agree with Kevin D., that is the nicest looking 1100 I've ever seen!

Wasn't the creeper gear in the 1100 & 582 "Special" actually a ratio in the tranny itself? Dad has one He bought as a source of "Parts" or a Donor tractor till He found out next to nothing interchanged with the real tractors. Kinda like the 1961/1963 model tractor He got. But the $$$$ was right and it ran.

Dennis, Ryan, Charlie, the 1100 and the 582 Special are listed as having 4 speed transmissions. First gear is the creeper gear. A granny gear if you prefer.

Interesting the 582 used the Farmall Cub rear end but the 582 not so Special used the Peerless rear end. I never paid that much attention to them. Looks like the 482 was nearly the same thing as a 582 Special, main difference was that the 482 didn't have the hour meter, amp meter and the headlights were optional. The 3 point hitch looks to be nearly the same as the one used on a wide frame except for a frame mounting plate.

Isn't it funny how one picture can replace two pages of writing? I consider the digital camera part of my tools in the garage. Whenever I work on something I keep the camera at my side and take pictures of each step. I have been taking pictures since 1999 and have thousands. I find myself going back to look at something I did years ago to help my aging memory. You can hold the camera in places you can't see, snap a picture and blow it up on the computer and really see what is there.

Richard, your last post brought tears of joy to my eyes! I like photos!!!)

Thanks Kraig. It's a 10 x 16. I had to make the 'pad' for it to sit on. About 8 yards of 3/4 stone encased in 6x6 landscape ties. The folks I bought it from backed it down off a truck. Almost intant Cub Shed. It has an another enrty type door on the other end and a small workbench inside. I still have to arrange things in it but it's cool.
