Kraig,

Yes, that's it. Ever chewed any of this? Tastes just like the berries.

Kraig-
Those are fantastic humming-bird photos!

Here's an odd photo. Last winter I fired up the loader tractor with the intent of moving about 2-1/2 cords of firewood. The temp was somewhere in the low teens. When I got near the bottom of the pile of wood, I found this guy stuck to the backside of a log. Perfectly preserved and untouched. It was a beautiful sight on such a cold afternoon.

Allen, thanks. "Flying olive in camo", funny mental picture.

Art, thanks. That's a cool freeze dried moth!

I took some photos of this moth that was at my sister's house earlier this spring.

Kraig, is that an oak stump? If so, that could be a "hen-of-the-woods" mushroom. Supposed to be pretty tasty, but I've never had the opportunity to try one.

Kevin, yes I believe it is an Oak stump. It's near my in laws place in northern Wisconsin. A neighbor of theirs said it was an edible mushroom that was supposed to taste like steak. I'm not sure what type of mushroom it is. I have collected and eaten morels but that's it. BTW, that stump is about 20" to 22" across, in case anyone was wondering how big it is.

A hummingbird came by today, so I started snapping some pics...

Obviously Allen's comment about "a flying olive wearing camo" comes to mind.

Kraig-
I bow to the master...

ART, KRAIG - Tell all those Humming Birds my Wife has all the hummingbird feeders filled & ready for them when they start their trip south for the winter. We've seen a lot more of them lately too.

KRAIG - Not sure how serious the article was I saw in the paper years ago, but "SUPPOSEDLY" there's a "Mushroom" under the ground that covers about Two-Thirds of the state of Wisconsin, mostly the upper portion. I remember the last sentence of the article... went "I wonder HOW BIG the STEAK is the muchroom is sitting on?". Kinda makes me thing the whole article was a joke, but maybe not.

Dennis, Dennis, Dennis.
All this time I thought Wisconsin was made out of cheese, and now you are telling me it is a fungus!!!!!

I'm going to stick with the cheese theory, "Wisconsin!, the Cheese State" sounds much better than the the "Fungus State"

Paul--Haven't you ever heard of the "Fungus Head"? It is Packer Sunday after all!!!!

Art, nice Humming Bird photos. I took mine with my Sony, I was fully zoomed out the 30x optical zoom and hand held. I had to be quick with the shutter button. I think I just got lucky.

Denny, I've heard about that giant underground mushroom as well. I also heard that it was supposed to be the largest living organism on the planet.
