Matt G. You'll have to come to Iowa. We have plenty of beautiful young women that think you and your Cub Cadets are sexy.

Just browsing this morning and found this. Elvis Presley's JD 4010. Click on the Elvis using a 1950s tractor at Graceland for film footage. Just a hunka, hunka, hunka burnin' love....

Matt G. You need to build a cab for a Cub Cadet like this one. Chamberlain Tractor.

This one reminds me of the old IH style. Chamberlain Diesel.

Four more days until my next checkup. Hopefully I will be able to have the stitches removed. Fancy and I are getting so bored not being able to do any Cubbing.

Dustin S.-

Bare metal by various means. Electrolysis tank and sandblaster are the easiest. If you cover the rust up, it'll just rust through again. I suppose you could paint everything with POR15 first, and then prime and paint, but that stuff is expensive. Not to mention that you'll be able to see the rust very clearly if you paint over it. Paint magnifies defects.

No, but my hands feel that way

The trigger on the gun I use has a lot of travel, so it pretty much rubs holes in my fingers.

Marlin-

So that's where they're all hiding

Vince-

Thanks! I sure hope I get it done in time...not much time left.

Kraig-

I looked at that ladder and thought it looked more like a parts rack. It works great for that!

Josh, Andrew , and all the other recent new members, WELCOME!

Andrew, it should not be too hard to find a used K301 as a replacement. Much easier to fit the same spec. (Cub Cadet spec) Kohler into the chassis then to modify something else to fit. Check the forum sponsors, see the colorful links at the top of the page, or place an add in the wanted section of the classifieds.

ANDREW V. - Your best bet will be to find a used rebuildable K301 or K321 (14 hp) for Your 122. Kohler does make a MAGNUM series engine that is the newer version of the old K-series but all You'll find resonably priced will be standard spec engines with the crankshaft drive shaft at 1-1/8" dia. and the starter/generator pulley & PTO clutch on Your 122 are 1.00 inch in dia. You will have to have the crankshaft drive end ground to size and remachine the keyway. There's no PTO clutch pilot bearing made to fit the PTO clutch that fits on a 1-1/8" dia shaft. My DAD had the same sitaution repowering a 129 about 6-8 yrs ago. Also mounting the starter generator and gas tank may be a problem depending on what style engine You find. There may be some small engine outlets that stock Cub Cadet spec engines but it usually costs less to rebuild or buy an already rebuilt engine that fits. Depends on how much rebuild work You can do yourself.

RICHARD P. - Dad's '51 FARMALL M out in my shop has M&W Add-Power sleeves & pistons in it and those pistons have off-set wrist pins in them to give the conn. rod a better angle at the crank throw on the power stroke. They were installed in about 1965 or 1966. That old Girl was already a "HORSE" just with IH 4.00" bore 5000 ft high altitude higher compression pistons, it would walk away and hide from a good running Super M or WD-45 Allis. After the M&W install it was No Contest!

Like I said, I was going from memeory and I didn't remember it making a difference which way the piston connected to the rod but the rod oiling hole HAS to face the camshaft. One thing I do remember is it says in about ten places in the manual that the wrist pin keepers have to be replaced each time they are removed. They can not be reused. I'm not sure how many people follow that but I know a new pair of keepers was the last part I had to "Special Order" and wait for at my normally well supplied CNH/IH Truck/CC dealer. Parts guy said they never showed ordering or stocking new keepers for a K161/181 before. I was surprised.

MARLIN - Dad's '63 4010-D was a TWIN to Elvis's, except His had 11L-15 frt tires instead of the 6.50 X 16's Elvis's had.

If I'd have run a 4010 down to the gate to sign autographs I'd have tied the horse onto the back of the tractor so when it didn't start I could ride the horse back to the house! 4010-D's & early 4020-D's have 24V elec. systems and they were very troublesome.

I know there's been posts on RPM's forum that Elvis had either a 300 or 350 utility tractor in the 1950's also.

Vince,- yes everything is stock. I am actually just going to take the mower off a drive it there( just 2 blocks away)I have a set of wheel weights going on it but that is bout it.

, plus they have a youngsters class so the boy is gonna pull too he is 6 y.o.

Denny, Andrew, the K321 won't fit inside the frame rails on a 122 unless you use the smaller flywheel and blower housing/shroud from the K301...

KRAIG - Yes, I forgot to mention He'd have to swap His sheet metal, blower backing plate and flywheel from His busted 301 onto the 321.
