OT, but fun....

Cub Scouts had the local Pinewood race on Saturday.

Steven III got Best of Show for his submarine and 7/16 in race, Emmma 6/14 in the sibling race, and dad got 2/4 in the Den Leader race with the F-150........lots of fun for the whole family!!!!!

On topic...Also managed to break my Haban 54" blade last night. Bad factory weld on the lift bracket required some action from the Big Blue glue gun.......fixed it up and went back out for more snow fun...love the 1872!!!!

STEVE B. - Steve III's submarine looks really neat! Great job!

JASON D. - The internal brake is oil cooled and lubricated, and doesn't really ever wear that much in operation on these little tractors. It's been my experience that when You adjust them that a small fraction of a turn of the adjusting bolt makes a WORLD of difference. SO, if You machine or grind away much material from the disc it will take a WHOLE lot of change to the adjuster to compensate. The brake was designed with this in mind....it would probably still work but I can garrantee it will still work as long as clean bare steel contacts the friction mat'l pucks. As long as the disc isn't warped or bent in any way I'd just try to get as much rust out of the pits as possible and run it. If Your disc is REALLY rusted I'd talk to one of the sponsors and get a used disc.

Just think of Your current disc as "Drilled & Vented" like the high performance rotors for cars & trucks.

Jeffery S. Ridenbaugh (Jridenbaugh) I agree with Kraiq on the clutch sticking.btdt ,i put my Cub in gear and drug the thing a little with my 149 and it broke free then. But you might want to take the thing (clutch) apart and true up the plates and remove the rust so you get a smooth working clutch when your done. Just my .02 later Don T

You'll notice, again, that it was a Hydro that got the job done......

Allan, You gotta send me that picture of your cat!! I nearly fell off my chair laughing so hard!!!

I'm in the process of aquiring some Cub space acrossed the street, my old nieghbor moved to Charolette a few years back and still owns the garage and house acrossed the street. Garage had about 6 late 60's era muscle cars in it at one time, so about 20 cubs will fit!! Has heat, gas, water, and cable tv! It sits empty and I figured I would have enough room to restore my 104.

Kraiq,,, Art A yes your right. dang i`am always doing that. Face i never forget names always !Droped my 129 hood off at the local body shop to have 8 holes filled ( welded). I`am priming the hood later today and some of the small pieces for the 129. Pictures later if you want! later Don T

Jim Larson,

Thanks for the info on the springs. If I find some, I'll let you know. I was planning on just getting the closest I could find. One of the Ace Hardware stores here in town keeps a HUGE selection of springs. Way more than any other store I've seen.

One other question.
I need the length of the lift rod for a CW-36. I'm mounting on a 127 if that matters.

Thanks,
Keith
