If your referring to my old 169.
They are narrow rims, and yes they are Firestone's.
To be honest, I don't know or can't remember if narrow rims for 1" spindles were ever an option.

I do know that the wide MTD/CCC rims have a really goofy setup for the bead seat area compared to the older IH design.
That's why the ones in the pic I post look stupid, but they function for what I needed at the time, LOL

Not to change the subject on the Firestone Tri's and the V61's, but I did...gulp...buy a set of Deestones. These are 26-12-12's 8ply. As typical Deestones ags are, they are shorter and narrower in size than other brand 26-12-12's. But just what I wanted. Got them mounted on 8.5" wide rims. Wish the rims were an inch or two wider. (Maybe I could send them to Jason to have him widen)! Had to go with the 8ply to get the wider lugs. 6ply and below have the skinny lugs.

Pay no attention to the off topic for here wheelie bars, adjustable hitch, kill switch....

Charlie,

Are those SGT front rims on your 782D? They look like they were wearing 18x8.50 turfs in some of your pics....

I agree on the different late model front rims....

Kirk L.

WHoLy SMoKes!!!!!
Now That's a rear,,,
Yeah looks like you could use few more inches,,
err.gif

As intriguing as your offer sounds, and as much as I'd love to be able to see some of my "handy" work on the back of that Awesomeness,,, I'm inclined to pass....
Hacking away at my "@#*%" on the tailgate with with some 24" pipe wrenches and big oLe hammer is one thing, but someone else's (stuff) ,,, Nah,,,,
My garage is definitely not setup for shop work,,, if I had a nice acorn table and a good 800 series Wilton then I'd probably welcome the offer,,,

I'm still trying to ignore every single thing in those pics except the 12x8.5's

All these pics and talk and I'm going to have to buy stock in a tire company soon...
I agree with Charlie on the V's on the 100, looks awesome. Steve's profile pic makes me want them on the 782 considering I do have to replace the old front turfs. Dad aired the one up with no tube and it developed a bulge in the tread. If my other wide front's clean up I'm going to get both and try a set on one of the other wide frames besides the 782

Jason,

No problem. Just threw that out there to see if you would bite! For being done in your garage, you did an awesome job widening your rims.

Kirk, hey thanks, I appreciate the compliment
happy.gif

I haven't been here long but seems like you pullers cut those 8.5's like the rest of us (well except Charlie) change oil,,,
With a setup like you got there figured the 10 / 12 inch wide rims would be easy to come by at "Events"!,??!,!,??!!,,,?
Regardless,,, that rig looks Awesome just the way it is!!!

Steve B.
Yes on the D and yes on the 18x8.50 turfs.
I might have to go back to 10.50's to level things out some, LOL
Or make a set of wide rims into narrow to gain some height back.

Marlin H.
Stones on wide rims.

Kirk L. Sorry for being late however "Yes" ... I agree with what you're thinking about the front tires on Charlie 169. Your Deestones are sweet on your Cub. I have the 10.50s on the 782D and just like the narrow width when it comes time to put everything in the garage.

Kirk L. and Marlin H.!
I really really can't say what I want on the open forum about both your comments on WHAT brand tires I put on MY 169!
But know this! This old man never forgets!

Charlie, I'm glad you posted. It's been so quiet here today, I was starting to think everyone was getting "tired" of posting.

On to cooler things!
I can't tell you how long it's been since I saw a box tied with clothes line rope!!!!
Even the inside parts and pieces were tied up tight, LOL
AND, there was a pleasant surprise in the box in the form of an angle kit!

It turned out to be a great day here in the frozen north.

Charlie P. I didn't mean to upset you. Your 169 looks great. And I have never seen a narrow front rim for the one inch spindles. Sometimes a picture makes the details harder to see than when viewing in person. Please don't be offended. Everyone one has preferences on what tires or options/improvements and that is what makes their tractors unique. The 682 my ex and I owned happened to have Goodyear Ag tires put on to help us mow on hillsides. Another reason that I'm partial to Deestones.

Thanks guys for the pics and comments.
I still like the looks of the V61s better than the tri-ribs on the wide rims.

As for the narrow rims, the tri-ribs can't be beat.

Jason,

The pic of that 100 with the extended axle sealed the deal for the V61s.

How does Charlie always find the goodies?

Charlie,

If your cat is like mine, it will have those strings in it's stomach before you can say: Cub Cadet 42 inch blade!
