Finally a little snow in Mi. I'm near the capitol city, Lansing. Close to 5" with some wind. Last year I had (2) sets of cub cadet weights on the 104 along with what is on it in the picture. I put those on my two tractors that look decent enough to take to tractor shows, so now looking for more weights to add back on in case of a big snow.

Harry,ya know we like seeing your replies ! Of course not anyone person knows how to fix it all, well wait...my uncle was a heck of a mechanic. He was a diesel mechanic an one of the best Massey Ferguson and IH specialist. I dont think there wasnt anything he couldnt fix. I do miss him at times, but I know hes in a much better place

Lucas-

Go to the Sandbox and about 1/3 way down I started a "ID of wheel weight". I think it was last January. Anyway, it has what I believe are the same wheel weights you're asking about. Kraig has some great pics of them on Farmalls.

Yeah those are front farmall weights for like a letter series or a hundred series. (H, M, 300, 400 etc.)

Happy New Year everyone!!

Got a chance to put the plow on the tractor and clear off all the side walks. Only a few inches but better luck next time.

Lucas - Yes "H" front wheel weights. Fit perfect and are heavier than CC weights, about 35lb -40lb ea if I remember right. In the past I have bolted the actual "H" wheel center on first, then the weight. The wheel centers are probably 10-15lb ea as well. Dennis F. and others probably know exact weight of the farmall front wheel weights. I would prefer real CC weights but as you all know they are pricey. The farmall weights were just laying around at my Dad's house. My Dad runs a set of the H wheel centers on his 782D for a little extra weight for mowing in damp grass.

Technically, one could argue that there are no (IH) Cub Cadet wheel weights. The weights we all think of as being Cub Cadet weights were actually Farmall Cub front wheel weights, they just happen to perfectly fit a Cub Cadet rear wheel so IH sold them as such.

I suppose if they have original white or yellow paint on them they could be considered Cub Cadet wheel weights...

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!

Kyle hopefully you found this and made it over frome the machine shop thread.

I think your problem may be a sheared pin on part #6 in the picture ( you will only see parts 4,5,6 from the outside of tractor.)
this should move and lift the snow blade by pulling the lift rod back
if not the pin may be sheared.

I've got a quick question I've got a 122 its all stock running 26/12/12 rears with wheel weights I was dragging some brush the other day felt a pop now it wont move I checked the drive shaft.and its spinning and I replaced the roll pin that couples it to the creeper a while ago. I'm going to be pulling it apart to look and see what's going on it wasn't a violent pop no grinding or anything gears still feel like there shifting but no movement at all any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks

Kraig,

I agree. Each of the three sets I have were originally yellow but... I wonder if the front wheel wts on the yellow / white cubs were yellow or white? In the yellow book there is a cub with yellow wts but it also has yellow wheels. Of course with IH I suppose it varied with what was "laying around".

Were plastic wts available with the quietline series, or were they all cast through the end of the 82 series?

Thought you all might enjoy seeing a 982 being towed in parade on a model 1200 IH trailer pulled by my Dads 61 Scout 80. Pic was taken in about 1979. Sorry for the quality, but it is a pic of the original pic. Dad was a mech at a full line IH dealer & I worked there through high school 1979 to 1983, & until the dealer closed in late 84. The Scout was Dad's hobby vehicle and unfortunetly has moved on, but has been sold to another IH collector & now "lives" in Canada.
I delivered the 982 when it sold new and am pretty sure I still know what house it is, as I live about 10 miles from there now. Yes I really need to stop and see if it is still there! As a 16/17 yr old it was one of my favorite Cub Cadets to hit the dealership.

Chris its probably the roll pins. they had scroll pins from the factory for strength but i double up roll pins some times so they don't break.

The driveshaft is spinning with the motor right to the creeper I replaced.the pin at the creeper with a bolt a while ago bolts still there I guess it is possible it sheared and is wedged.in so feels tight gonna tear it down tomorrow. And see what I find I hope its just the bolt

Weights switched to 75# ea. plastic with "red, blue, white" IH circle emblem in them during the 82 series production.

Does anyone have any pictures of these 75# weights for the 82 series?
