Where is everybody?

Is everyone out slinging snow? We are just getting hard wind and occasionally some rain. I know it's too nasty for most of you to be working on your cubs. At least someone could post pictures of some nice cubs. It's getting boring at my house!

I know what you mean. My Cub is still in hibernation. Keep checking in here for some kind of a fix. If these guys don't start posting, I may go into withdrawl. LOL

OK, nobody is helping, so I went to some of my photos to try and cheer myself up. Being stuck in the house unable to do anything STINKS!! (almost have pneumonia)
Here is a pic of my "hopefully" soon to start project:

And here's what I plan to put it on along with dual rear wheels and a creeper gear:

D Tanner... this is completely off topic, But I hope you mean she bought a BlueRay Player. HD DVD's are not supported by any major movie company (and haven't been since like 2006.) so you won't be seeing any more movies in that format. Kinda like the old BetaMax vs. VHS battle back in the day. (Any we know how that turned out.)

To get back on topic, engine looks good. Can't wait to put together my new one for the 128.

Marty G, Thats my project this spring, to restore my Haban and put it on my 125. Waiting for warm weather.

Marty, that looks like it will keep you occupied for a while. Hope you get to feeling better soon. I wanted to go out and play, but we have yet to reach 40 degrees and I have some small items I need to paint. Maybe tomorrow.

Question:
Can you still get IH stamped sickle blades?

Melody,
What model is your Haban? Any pics?
Did you restore those cubs on your profile photo? They look super nice!

Kenneth,
I have some small parts i've been trying to paint since Christmas!

Marty G, yes I restored them myself. I take that back my 2 nephews are mechanics so when I get in over my head they help out with the mechanical issues. I'm working on a 126 I rescued from the junkyard now. My Haban is a 402D and yours is in better shape then mine. I am also looking for knives.

Supposed to get to 68 today. LOLOLOL. Don't think its going to make it. Still 40 out and no sun. Oh well, I'll keep surfing thru the forums.

MARTY G. - re running a Haban sickle mower. Sickle mowers actually work fairly well when running fast. And they pull really easy, so a creeper isn't needed, in fact I think you'll find 2nd too slow and 3rd just a bit too fast. A 10 HP Hydro would be a perfect tractor for a sickle mower.

Only reason I can see for running duals is if the ground you want to mow is a very steep bank or very rough. The right dual will actually extend past the inside end of the sickle bar.

Nice 70 BTW, when you get the Haban on that 70 you may want to run both wheel weights on the left rear wheel.

My Buddy bought an almost brand new Haban on a decent running O/T 317 model tractor. There was only a few scratches on the bottom of the sickle bar, but the sickle sections showed a fair amount of abuse from cutting things way too big for a sickle bar mower. He's had the tractor/mower for about 2 yrs and I can't believe He hasn't tried mowing with it yet!

Sickle mowers don't work real well in thin bladed grass unless they're in top notch shape. Sharp sickle sections and the rock guards or ledger plates have to be in good shape too.

Lot of work keeping them mowing good if you use them a lot compared to a rotary.

My Haban on my 100.....

IH sickle sections fit the 402 I had.

I am working on a 1650 cub and was wondering if anyone had some pictures of the hyd. lift hook up this one only lifts one side of the deck.Thanks,Joey.

Steve B "Mr Plow", I like the weights on the front of that 100. I'm trying to figure out something for the front of my 126 but the casting is in the way. Any ideas?

Joseph-

Check the roll pins in the rock shaft. It sounds like one side has broken.

I looked at it somemore and the float lockout pin is missing and the hyd. ram is moving like it should but the piece that connects the ram to the rockshaft keeps moving and pivots on the rockshaft.Thats where it stops lifting the deck on one side.Thanks,Joey.

Nic Bextermueller

Yep its a BlueRay Player,I just got it all connected today and gave it a try. real clear sharp picture. No Cub time today , the wife says I got all week to work on Cubs and the weekend I must spend with her.

Melody,
Dig up a old mule drive for the mower and have a extention welded to the front and you'll be all set!

Question:
Will a guard/tote (grill guard/carry all0 from a model 70 fit an Original? Who made this option?
Thank you

Melody, here's a LINK to an archived page where I posted some mule drive weight brackets.
