Hello guys. been fluffing here all day and a broom will clean it away. I was hopeful on some seat time here but I don`t think that will happen. No Cub work today because the bos is home,, but an O will get some attention in the am after I get some supplies from town. Frank C had some bad luck and did not get my blower for me but there will be another weekend soon.I hope the snow melts here soon so I can get at some other Cubs that I have stored away. Have a great day all . Later Don T

Charlie P. We've been having real light flakes all day... sorta like bad dandruff. Not worth taking any pictures of yet.

Dennis F. Quite awhile back I promised to get a couple of pictures of the lift lever lockout setup on Clarence. This morning, I finally had a reason to open up the back Cub shed. I discovered the snow is deeper than it looks in spots and that Clarence's left front tire is flat. (Poor little fella.) Anyway... here are a couple of cell phone pictures.

The wire looks to be slightly heavier gauge than factory. Also, the slight grooves put on top of the button. I've had real good luck with this setup.

Hey guys, I have a question... So in this snow in the northeast I burnt up my PTO belt on my 104 and when I replace it I was trying to see if there is a "kit" to turn it into the wider belt version. If not, what belt do I get for it? I can't seem to find it on my searches.

Thanks,
Mark

Is your blower in Buxton,Me.? If it is I may be able to help move it north to save Frank some travel time.

Just telling you what others have used.
IMO, making spacers is fine if your never going to change anything on the machine or add air pressure or change the style of chains. Washers are fast, simple and adjustable if you decided to change anything, that's all I'm saying!

You'll also find that 3/4" won't be enough with 26x12 Tru-Powers, especially if you get some mud once and a while, BTDT too.

The information your looking for is here,
http://cubfaq.com/questions.html

There's no need for a wider belt than what IH called for.
Using the right belt for the application is what you have to do.
Automotive belts will not work for long. Also over feeding the thrower burns belts. Patience is a virtue when throwing snow.
It's a IH-55053-C1 and it measures 15/32 X 30". Assuming that your running a QA thrower.

MARK A. - There's no "KIT" to change from the 3/8" wide belt to 1/2" or 5/8" like the latter model tractors use.
The manual PTO pulley is wide enough to use a 1/2" wide belt. The driven pulley on the blower gearbox is a standard size you could get in a 1/2" wide groove, the stock pulley is too narrow. You could also play with driven pulley diameter to speed up the blower auger, that usually gives more throwing distance but pulls MUCH harder, if Your still running 10 HP in your 104 You may not want to do that. As to what size belt You would need well, buy a variety, take the ones back that don't fit and pick up a spare!

MARLIN - I actually like that float bail better than the OEM one. I scraped the drive Tuesday with the 70, only had 2-3 inches. And that &$@ bail would get my glove stuck between it and the button about 20% of the time. Thanks for the pic's!

Haven't you worn the bottom off that pallet yet??

Had a little better luck with the snow blower today. The neighbor came through and opened a path with his Bobcat, and the cold air overnight allowed the snow to get "crispy", and I was able to push back the edges of the path. Often I had to undercut the pile with a couple of passes, then knock down the overhang with a tire iron, which served double duty to clear the chute.
