Was just looking at Richard T. photo of a Cub and Cab and wondering...is that from the musical OKLAHOMA?? Ya know, 'the surry with the fringe on top'!

Marlin-

Why don't you just ask Fancy? I'm sure he'll have some input.

I`am ready for some snow! Frank C for Maine will be going to pick up a 1811 for us, I now have a 450 snow blower to add to a tractor I have here so next winter I can blow some snow.
I have to update my to do list as I seem to get off track easy

.

I have my O now ready to work on and there always seems to be something that will get in the way of me having time to get at it.I want the O done this winter . Later Don T

Steve Shaff,
My 70 pto was originally, and will be again painted IH 901 white. I will try to help you on any other parts, just say what part.
Dave R.,
I am happy to report that I have no twist at all using this lift. I just bought an OEM lift minus the "U" bracket and lift braces, and will be installing it as soon as I can get it painted. I also obtained an OEM spring assist that will be going on too.

MARLIN - Actually, I'd go with the 6-12 ags if they have decent tread. I actually plowed a lot with 6-12 turf tires without chains many yrs ago. I'd fall-plow my Sister-in-law's BIG Garden"S" and Dad's garden. A rotten tomato would cause Me to spin-out but I'd "Getter Done!"
The reason I'd stay away from the turfs & chains is because the chains will tend to make the tractor slip & slide around when hauling even if securely strapped/tied down.
And a couple pair of weights no matter what tires You run, and many people run an extra 26# weight on the land wheel. It really helps.

hay Big Steve thanks for that spacer info looks like thats my next project. do you have any pictures? and what did you use for spacers thanks agine

morning all, I `am sitting here thinking about Cat O for a tractor and don`t know much about them. Witch is a better set up sleeve hitch or Cat O . could someone give me there thoughts on these?
Thanks Don T

Can anyone confirm the thickness of the cork gasket that goes between the hydro and the rear end? I think it's 1/16", but wanted to be certain.

Thanks

I have put in a few of the cork gaskets and I never checked them for thickness. later Don T

DONALD - Cat 0 compared to sleeve hitch. Both will pull and lift small implements. IMHO the Cat 0 allows more adjustability to the implements by allowing the top center link to be adjusted longer or shorter, and the lift links can be adjusted higher or lower independent of each other so one side of a wider implement can be raised/lowered.
Things like a box blade work so much better on a 3-pt compared to a sleeve hitch. Brinley was pretty innovative in being able to adjust their moldboard plows to work as well as they do with the sleeve hitch, discs, planters, etc also.

If You don't have a 3-pt on your diesel I would get one. I made an adapter to hook my sleeve hitch stuff onto the 3-pt.

Thanks for the information guys! Always feel better when I get a 2nd opinion.....

Dave R. I pull a 10" Brinly with the 125.I haven't picked up the 6x12 Aggies yet. I may just bring them along and try both sets out with the plow. I had the 125 with turfs/chains at PD10 and had no problem with traction then. Just curious about running 6x12 ags. Right now they way things look I should have a trailer to bring up another Cub. so... all goes well there will be the 782D, Keepsake 1650 and the 125 to plow with. BTW Dave... will you be able to make it to Spring Plow Day at Rockford? If so look me up.

Corey S. Good catch on getting the 71 up and running.

Lucas J. You'll love a 122. They are fun little tractors.

Wayne S. Already asked Fancy. He wants to see them first. Knowing him ... he'll say use them as duals on either the Keepsake 1650 or the 782D.

Dennis F. You're correct about the chains slipping/sliding even when strapped down. The tires are Armstrong with a nice deep lug and I couldn't resist the price for the tires and rims. I may borrow the weights off Clarence for the day.

I would love to make it to Rockford. Have no idea if it'll happen yet. There isn't a person on here I wouldn't enjoy a bull session with over cubs or most anything. If I do make it, I sure will.
Lucas, I learned to mow with a 122, I couldn't break it (I tried), rolled it down a hill one day. Just went back to mowing after kinda straightening out the steering wheel with a crow bar.

Could someone please go to FAQ #92 and place an arrow on the picture pointing to the balance gears which are to be removed? I beleive they're the gears at the top left of the picture. There is the camshaft, the crankshaft and the balance gears if I am correct. Also, please just confirm that in this picture the gears are already half broken apart. This is not how they look when you first open up to engine? Thank you.

BJohnson, I can't do the fancy stuff but you are correct. Those gears aren't broke thats how they look. They are out of balance, timed together with the crank they are designed to reduce vibration.

BJohnson in the photo in faq you dont see the gear well here are a few pics that might help
The first with the red circle is the 1st balance gear, it comes off after removing the snap ring.
The second is directly below it and I circled the webbing in blue ( on the 1st gear just for reference), And you must break the webbing to get the gear off the shaft (it will break with the correct influence) dont forget the very thin washers that are on there also.
