Ethan, is it that the PTO will not turn *ON* your QA36 or it will not turn it *OFF*? Your post at 12:31 appears to indicate that it will not stop your QA36 from turning. If it won't turn it off it could be that you have the PTO slid to far onto the crank shaft and the throw out is bottoming out on the end of the crank. If you look at this cut away view you can see how close the end of the crank is to the back of the center button.

Ethan k.
Those kits on greedbay use as you say brass buttons, which will NOT hold up.
They have to be the BRONZE composite material.
ALSO, The fiber disc that came with your kit will NOT hold either.
They are made from brake material which is NOT clutch material.
EVERYTHING that was in the kit you bought is after market untested for it's longevity as they have only been on the market for less than 5 years.
That old saying You get what you pay for applies to your situation.

ALSO,
If you did not resurface both sides of the clutch housing, you pretty much wasted your time and money.
Those PTO's are just like a car clutch. When replace the disc, you always resurface the pressure plate and flywheel (or should) if you want it to last!

Hey kraig the pto bearing is "seated"on the snap ring embedded in the pto housing pulley I'd say you could put the pto to far down he main shaft.doug thanks that could very well be even after following torque specs on the nuts and bolts the gauge wasn't even close so I got it closer to the gauge spec back to kraig I can't turn off my blower or stop the pulley from turning, thanks guys you've all given me a few good directions to turn

Digger greedbay I like that I had one of my guys at work "turn"you could say my clutch(I work in a garage) I'm a little dismayed that I bought crap

It's good that you had it turned.
But after truing it up, did ya sand both to get a good cross hatch on them?

Yes ran Emory cloth on it yo home the surface like a brake rotor

I looked harder at the hitch from the RPRU last year, and it could be interchangeable like you say Steve. It has given me some different ideas.
Good thing about today, putted the 1200 up and down the block. Been over a month since I last started it. Kinda like a grumbling bear after hibernating, but warmed right up and purred like a kitten, til the muffler fell off...

Ethan, you could have the adjustment for the PTO engagement lever set too tight so that it is putting so much pressure on the center button that it hits the crankshaft.

Jason - back in the day of the original Forum, "Before the Great Crash" we would have referred to that as blasphemy and required you to pay penance by placing that thing in a bonfire.

If you haven't read the archives "Before the Great Crash (BGC)" you might find it very interesting. You'll find things like the Great Oil Debate, and all the discussions about removing a steering wheel. Lots of great info on how things developed.

Not just you Jason, all the Young-uns that post or lurk on here.

You might even come across some info where I'm referred to as Elder Harry.

Jason W. That poor Cub Cadet. Someone needs their head examined for doing that.

Marlin - it is really sad. I hope it's at least a CCC 482 and not IH, but even that puts a knot in my gut.
