David, Pumpkin is sure a handson guy. so BJ is aloof? It seems he's everywhere though, wanting to be the center of attention, lol. How many kitties do you have? in the house/ outside?

lol guys on the plop kitties. Fancy nor none of the girls really plop. The only time Fanc does the plop over is when you put his sweater or coat on him, then his legs go to jelly. hehehe.

Fancy wants to go for a ride every day now when Marlin gets home from work and Fancy seems to think that I need to go along, so I do. You know, the kitties dictate what we do. We have been putting the arm cushion down between us and Fancy adores sitting on that so he is sitting froma higher perspective He thinks he's one cool cat now, and Marlin can drive and not have Fancy giving him continual headbutts/loving ( same for me) Fanc will just lean over and brush against our shoulders. I think he thought if I go then one of us would go in and get him chicken strips at Caseys, ah, but we decided to stop that cause Fancy is putting the weight back on. I guess I should have been giving him less chicken at a time, my fault, but he doesn't constantly need fresh chicken strips. he's a cat for goodness sakes. OH NO, I didnt just say that did I? sorry. I thought this morning Annie was going to miss watching her daddy drive off to work as she and Fancy and Hannah were on the porch being busy, but the second she heard the door close, she can running as fast as she could into the kitchen so I could pick her up. lol. She looked so anxious, like hurry, pick me up so I can watch the taillights. So I did and she did, and then I had to get Fancy off the porch as it was to cold for him to just sit out there. Yep, he has plenty of insulation, but since he's a house plant, I mean kitty, I don't want him to catch a cold since he's not to cool temps. He was bummed out, but he got over it.

Allen, how are your kittens? and Marty and Wayne??we haven't heard about your kids in awhile either..

We had a cat named Nermal... she was sooo friendly and cute... she had a white, triangular "diaper" on her bottom side, and she would "flop" on command. Just say," Floopy Kitten!" and over she would go... My wife really misses her...

Here is our cat named William Barthameow Pierson. We got him off of Craigslist in 2005 when we lived in AZ. Unknow how old he is, but we think he is about 9 years old.

and ya, he loves his naps after being tucked in.

Mike, he is very spoiled, and knows it! He plays a game we call "dead kitty" everytime we get home. We walk into the house, and he will flop down on the ground. He wont move until we get the treat bag out, and then wala! He is alive again. LOL Crazy cat

Scott T, Nermal is such a unique name for a kitty. How did you all come to that? curiouss.Nermal has passed on, and yeah, We all know how it is, those little furballs like kitty paw prints on our hearts.

Jeff P, well William is quite handsome and he has a HUGE smile on that little kitty face.!! To cute he likes to be 'tucked' in. I had to giggle with him coming back to life with the rattle of a kitty treat bag. Ours can be anyways in the house, sound asleep, but even quietly pick up a bag of treats and they are front and center.

When Fancy is laying with us, he has to be under the covers, but he hasn't requested to be tucked in yet. lol. Fancy does do flopping, but no on us, but outside. When we are out walking, he will just FAINT and he will lay quiet till you say, OH NO, Fancy fainted, then he starts wiggling back to consiousness. At times his fainting spells get kind of irksome when I 'm trying to get exercise for him. Some days he faints first, Other times, its when we are done, or almost done, but 99.9% of the time he will faint at some point.
Often Tootsie collapes in the morning in the bathroom when Marlin is getting ready for work, or when I go up to get her in the afternoon..those collapes are the signal to pour on the tummy tickes. Oh, if we put a newspaper down on the table, she will come up and gently " plop" and then roll over to have tummy tickles and tummy drums. We pat on her tummy like its a little drum.

Nermal is from the Garfield comic strip, dubbed the world's cutest kitten... Our Nermal had a sister named Nemo, as she got into a lot of mischief... Both were Black tigers

Cathleen, does any of your "furkids" do this? It can be a magazine or a newspaper your reading and you put it down on the couch and the cat jumps on it and lays down!! And then just stares at you when you want it back!! RRRRRrrr....

Talking about treats. When we first got M-M.. we had left the little bag on the coffee table and had gone out. When we got back a couple hours later, of course the bag was shreded and M-M was smilin'! SO we figured we be smart and tossed the treats into a cookie tin with a secure cover. He figured out that they were in there and one night we come home from work and theres the tin, laying on the floor with no cover and of course no treats left either!

We have NO IDEA how he could've got the cover off. I can barely grab the edge to flip the cover!

Mike, dont you know anything that falls off a counter top will have its lid pop off ! ? Especially if its jelly or something similar! Cats are born with a basic instruction set...item #104...push it around enough and it will come apart !

Mike, well, both Annie and Tootsie casually come up to us when we are reading the paper at the dining room table and just plop down on it, seemingly ignoring the fact that we are reading it, or deliberately being a pest. Tootsie loves to plop on the paper to get tummy tickles. Annie loves to attack the sunday paper when I am trying to sort through it to take out the sections we read. That can be very challenging. I will tease her with a section then toss it on her or on the floor to distract her.

sooo Mike, I wonder how in the world MM got the tin open to get his treats? that was one determined kitty. lol. I can't imagine. As you said, I too have enough difficulties getting my fingers on the edge of those to pry the lids off, yet MeowMeow has conquered what we cannot do. Figures. You go MM. hahaha.
Scott T, ahhh, I see. Well I don't pay that much attention to Garfield, so thanks for the info on Nermal AND Nemo.

Allen, how true with kitties. When they knock something off the counter, the top always does seem to come off. Why IS that I wonder?
If Tootsie is hungry and wants food, she will fling the cat food cans off the counter. One time marlin went to the store and got a new flavor for them, and somehow she managed to get the NEW flavor from the middle of the stack, and then fling it off the counter. Obviously she was letting us know that was what she wanted to eat the next time, but we couldnt quite figure out how she got to the can in the first place. I guess some things just aren't for us to know in their mysterious kitty ways..

Tots will often come to set in my lap when I'm reading. She just wiggles her way in and plops down in the middle of whatever I'm reading.

Funny how many cats love to sit on our reading material.

Allen, the tin was on the coffee table and had landed on a carpeted floor. I tried to open the tin by pushing it off the table and I couldn't get it to. I have no idea how he opened it!

Hey, my little ones made it bigtime! ! A few of the kittens are adopted but we still have the top left one and the bottom left and right ones. The top left is 'Willow', she is a munchkin cat, about half size normal and very short legs. We have one in the house already. Willow could be a half sister or 1/6 sister since she came from the same mom but 1-1/2 years later.

Allen S...very cool your kids were the stars of their own adoption page at the shelter. Our furkids here are hoping that your little ones up for adoption will all have forever homes SOON.

Scott, I'd love to see a picture of you and a cat shlurping milk from a dish together !

Now that the weather is getting colder, Princess is spendng most days the shop. This was one of her favorite spots last year, but that was B.C. (before Cubs). Yesterday, I had to walk back to the house in shirtleeves because I had left my flannel jacket lying on the seat of the 1200!!
What is it w/cats and flannel anyhow!!

David S, that is such a sweet pic of Princess. Sounds like Princess found the perfect place to snuggle while she was helping you in the shop.!! Does she go in the house with BJ and Pumpkin? just how many kitties do you have? lol.

I got a scare from little Miss Millie last nite. She was having a problem with her left eye and wouldn't open it. I could tell something wasn't quite right with the way she was acting too. I picked her up and she just laid in my lap for a good while hardly even opening her "good" eye. She seemed to just want to rest. She even refused to play run and romp with Barney which has become a nightly thing. I was very concerned but also know that the eye heals the fastest of any body part so I decided to give it the night and see how things were in the morning.

This morning things are pretty much back to normal and Millie seems fine. She and Barney spent a lot of time out in the woods yesterday since my little buddies came to visit and ride tractors. They brought Bell, their sweet pit bull and the cats will have nothing to do with her. I guess she just scraped it while running through brush or something. I was sure glad to see two big, bright eyes when I picked her up this morning. My Christmas gift has been delivered.

Barney got his first major kill a couple of days ago. He brought me a nice field rat. It had to be him because Graygirl, the rat harvester was asleep in the front bedroom all morning that day. Millie got her first fill also about a week or so ago. I was watching her stalking out in the garden and a couple of hours later she's on the front porch with a 2" vole. She was so proud and was keeping Barney at bay over her kill.
