Mike, nice! Yep, a cab is a nice thing to have for using a snow blower/thrower.

What's the surface you were clearing snow from? Looks like it has a green tint to it, is it lawn?

Oh I wouldn't be without one now for blowing snow Kraig. What a relaxing job now! I was blowing my path from front of lot to the wood shed in the back. It across my lawn. I didn't want my wood shed up near my house when I built it. Didn't want to look at 30 cord of wood all summer long.
Just need to remember to wear coveralls when sitting there. The fan blowing on window seizes up my knees! Old age sucks!

I see I didn't turn the camera the right way either. Duh!

Man this is a week for STRANGE stuff, LOL
This thing looks like a combination of a QA,CC,CW thrower. They guy didn't understand why things didn't work just right!

I wonder if it actually functioned at all

I have to say cast iron BS motors are terribly loud straight piped. My buddy's original sounded kinda cool, but mufflers are key we found out. I'm thinking of one on the 100, with a proper brace though to ease the strain on the block. It's just for snow duty really.

Man, everybody is so up in arms about duals, cast iron or not, straight pipes...

I invite everyone of you to one of my tractor pulls season. Bring ear plugs.

In fact, my 17yr old niece drives a stretched QL with an opposed cast iron Briggs with dual 2" straight pipes turning somewhere around 6,200 rpm. It's loud.

(All drivers are required to wear a DOT approved helmet... so ears are covered.)

I don't think it's an up in arms thing.
It's more of some like and some don't.
Personally, I think some look cool as all get out and some are just plain nasty.
IMO, 2 of the first pics that Mike M. posted are cool, the last one, not so much.

And the pic I posted the other was just about as nasty as it gets!!!!!

Long cold winter days and nights gettin' to some of you guys??!!LOL

Me, I'm heading to the shop to see what all it's gonna take to get the 104 back up on it's feet and useable by spring!!
Should make a decent little cultivator rig now that the 126 is finished!

Charlie - naw, winter ain't here quite yet. Still got 7 days until the shortest day of the year. BUT AFTER THAT, just think - there is a little more sunshine every day.

The other day when I was vacuuming up leaves with the E-Z-Rake, I happened to look down through the dash and notice the driveshaft in my 782 was wobbling. Tonight I pulled it apart, and sure enough, the front spherical bearing was bad. I thought I would have replaced it at some point, but maybe not. If I did, it only lasted ~45 hours, maximum. I guess we'll see how long this one lasts.

I also pulled the starter for the third time this year. I replaced it with one I rebuilt in 2010. I'm no longer a fan of the PB Blaster Garage Door Lube for lubricating the bendix drive on these starters; the rebuilt starter that has been on the shelf for 6 years was as sticky as the starter I removed from the tractor. Since that didn't stay slippery in storage, or on the starter on the tractor, I decided to try something a bit different this time around (Caterpillar 1U8268 dry film lubricant) to see if it works any better. What is everybody else using for this now?

I also ended up putting it on the spherical bushing I replaced, since anything else I've ever used to lubricate one of those just seemed to attract dirt.
