Although the bandage doesn't look all that impressive, I won't be turning wrenches for at least a couple of months. Compound fracture of both my lower leg bones, which are now held together with plates and screws, the result of a car wreck near Budd Lake New Jersey about 3 weeks ago. 2 weeks in the hospital and 9 days in acute rehab are behind me, but I still have a long way to go before I can walk. I will get there, but it will take time.

Yes it was, near Mt Olive. An eastbound car lost it in the turnaround and veered into our path. I was riding up front, and was most seriously hurt. My sister behind me suffered a broken ankle and cracked wrist, my brother in law was mostly unhurt and walked away. Thank goodness for airbags and seatbelts.

A bad break of the tib, fib bones are not to bad. I have a plate from my knee down with 7 screws to hold it all together. I was glad when I could have the fiberglass cast put on so I could wear something other that sweat pants. You will be wrenching in no time.

Bruce-

I'd say you win the prize for thing that kill my cub time. I sure hope you mend well as well as everyone concerned.

Things that kill my cub time are cubs I can't get along with.

I have had my laptop and cellphones with me since the first couple of days in the hospital, so my mind isn't going numb from daytime tv. Still, getting home is still at least a month away, and being stuck in a wheelchair is getting old. At least it is only temporary.

Bruce, yikes! Sorry to hear about that but good to hear that you're mending. Get well soon!

Here is the reason my Cub time is less these days. I bought a 1999 Kawasaki Nomad 1500 to enjoy on the nice days we get here. So cubs get worked on when its raining now. It has 33346 km on it so I pulled and brought it. Between the fiver and this and Cubs I know my summer will go fast.
