Higher hitch also = mandentory wheelie bars....don't want to get out of shape and smashed!!!!

also to add to what Steve just said, I'f you build a fixed hitch at 13 inches you'll find that most places their measuring device is not accurate.or they may have a 12 in. draw bar rule. or the surface you measure off is different or your tire PSI differs. if you have no way to adjust down then you won't be able to run. if you can't adjust up you can't take full advantage ogf the draw bar

Help!I need some opinions for tire brands/types.Stock class puller,only allowed 23/10.5/12.Super Lugs,Tru-Power etc.Thanks in advance....Joe

i will second what don recomended for tires. those 23x8.5x12 firestones are the best tire when u have a max tire size of 23 inches

Ok,next thing, are those the 23* tires you're referring to?Also what width rim?And I assume I am better off with the 8.5s instead of the 10.5s?It will be weighted at 950# and 1050# unless the rules change. Thanks for the info guys. This will help me alot....Joe

I'm curious about the tire sizes also. Wouldn't you want a wider tire for more tread contact? I need to put a set on the CC & may change the jd's 10.50s depending on ya'll response. I believe the 8.50s are also recommended for pulling a plow.
Thanks

tire size is not the only factor to look at in a tire. lug angle or degree of the lug,lug shape and hardness are all to be taken into account. what works on 1 type of track may not work well on another. if you only want 1 set of tires then look at the best all around tire. go to a Quarter Scale pull sometime and watch the tire games there. many of the top pullers have at least 3 sets of tires mounted and ready to go. You need a very sharp eye to even notice the difference in 1 set to another.

It would seem that you can get more weight per square inch on the ground with the 8.5s as opposed to the 10.5s.It also seems that the 10.5s would put more surface on the ground. With limited horsepower and a certain weight I guess the narrow tires may work better.Only thing is,if the 8.5s are 23*,I don't know where to get them. And how much? There is a pull this Sat. Feb. the 5th in Felicity,Ohio. It's not really a NQS pull, but I think there are some Quarter Scale guys that show up.At least there were last time.I should probably go "bug em'" for a little info if possible.....Joe
