Since it is Friday, is there such a thing as a Farmall Super 8?

I'm guessing it should have been a Super A instead.
Seems like all Farmall tractors have a letter designation instead of a number.

Dang, Charlie strikes again!

Snow blower lift

Attached is a picture if the mounting assembly for the snow blower on my 129.
I have a hydraulic lift but it only lifts about 3 inches. I know I have to replace the pivot shaft because it is loose and one side barely clearly clears the ground. The cylinder has enough throw, but it is not recessed all the way when the blower is down. If I shorten the lift rod the blower will not go all if the way down.
Has anyone done any modifications to the lift or do I could have something installed incorrectly?
Any comments appreciated

Earl, looks like a modified QA42. That might be all the height you will get. As you've already alluded to, make sure that the rock shaft spirol pins are intact and you might get a wee bit more lift.

Man, that lift rod sure looks LONG!!!!!
In addition to what Kraig said, a float lockout might be in order in your case.

Digger-what you have to do is rework those valve stem caps to have the IH logo LOL

Something looks fishy. This is on my 1250. Lift arm is almost straight up and down with thrower on the ground. I get about 5 1/2" lift. Why aren't there any upper lift arms?

QA xx no upper arms....QAxxA upper arms....

Quick question,

In Doug's QAxxA Snowthrower picture, I see he has the curved upper links, which allow this thrower to be installed on an 82 series.

On his, the links are installed with the curve "down". I have the same arms on my QA42A, and the curve is installed "up", opposite his picture. Which one is correct, or does it not really matter. I do know with the curved rods, the housing lifts almost straight up, instead of rocking back.

Scott-Pretty sure they were curved to miss the grill. If they were up I think they would hit. I've seen them on other wide frames up also but not on an X82. When I got the blower that's the way they were on.

Yeah if you put them on upside down they will hit the side panels and/or grill on an x82. You can still lift it up an inch or so with them upside down.

I’ll go make a video of it doing it’s thing in a bit.

David,

What? They didn't?

I just wanted to make sure Farmall didn't produce a project tractor I hadn't heard of.
