Austin E. I'd look into trading that nice looking 128 for a 129 or 149. It's just too danged nice the way it is to convert. How far into Iowa are you willing to drive in case I happen across a 129? I don't need a 128 since I have a 108 with a 14 hp Kohler in it that when I get time and funds it will become a Plow Day tractor. Since I'm getting younger towards eternity the 108 will definitely have more spring assist than just the one on it now.

Jason W. I like the looks of your new Ags. You're learning fast and soon will be attending Plow Days with it.

Off to work. Everyone have a SAFE and awesome day.

Hey Austin,

Once you start "Tinkering" on the 128 that "Oh So Very Contagious" yellow/white fever might just take over and consume your every thought, and even change your entire thought process!!!!

Austin
My experience when buying used tractors is the condition of the oil on the dipstick can tell a lot about that engine. If it's a good engine and the owner is proud of it the oil will be clean and full. If it's old and tired and consumes oil they may not change it very often and it will be dirty because of blow by etc. Looking at the air filter is good too. my $.02

Austin E. I'd try and keep the 128 (hide it somewhere) and get the 149. You'll love both of them.

Jason W. I am intrigued with how you made your Brinly lift system. Any pictures that you can provide us with?

Marlin

I agree with what you are telling Austin.

Gear drives and hydros BOTH rule...in their own ways.

Marlin -

I posted a few pics of Marty's 128 hoping to entice Austin to Maybe "Not" make his 128 into something else,

Austin - don't do it. 128 is a really great tractor and I especially like the red stripe decal on the hood. It's just to involved to changing it to a hydro. The entire rearend and driveline changes, and controls up to the dash, etc. If you want a hydro go buy a hydro. 149 is sweet but if you want the red decal it has to be a 129.

Jason - did I miss something???? I didn't see a report on the tire height after you inflated the tires. Did they pump up to 23" tall?

Marlin,

That was a lift that came off of a Bolens tractor. It was converted to an OEM cub cadet lift shortly after that. OEM Headlights were also added about the same time.
