Charles, Bill, Dan Hoefler uses fiber washers on the hood hinge/pivot bolts between the hood and the grill (He might also be putting one behind the steel washer on the outside of the hood). He then tightens them so the hood is snug, it'll stay pretty much where he puts it. But then his tractors are show tractors that don't get much use.........

Thanks everyone for your insight on the hood problem. I once saw a cub cadet with dual wheels on the rear. Out of curiosity, how are these fabricated?

hi, any ideas on why my 1450 runs the battery dead sometimes? i have put new cables on it,checked grounds etc. also the amp guage does not move when its running but will show aslight discharge with the lights on. my 128 moves a good bit on the guage. any ideas would be appreciated.

Other than adding oil, transaxle is officially DONE!

Should be about all I could want for plowing, internal brake so I can run weights on the inside of the wheels, 23% overdrive with first, second, and third gears useable for plowing (13T, 15T, 17T topshaft gears) fine spline carrier, sight glass in the rear cover. ALL new bearings, seals, and gaskets, and shifter gone through. Only thing left is paint this coming week.

I used a powersteering pump. Done again, I would probably use the bottom tap that IH put at the bottom front of the gear drive tranny rather than tap my own on the side for both suction and return...I would only tap for return.

1/2" NPT Tap and HSS drill bit were over $100.

The 1200 is a gear drive in the Quiet Line series, with an ISO-mounted engine,and electric PTO and the 129 is a hydro with a solid mounted engine,and mechanical PTO. Dunno what else you want to know. ;-)
