Eric, the 1282 axle should bolt right in, it's the exact same part, same part#. The Cub Cadet Parts Lookup is a wonderful thing.

Well,
I just bought my first narrow frame tractor today.
It is a 126. The PO had IH put in a replacement k301, a new S\G, and new wiring harness also a set of new 23-8.5-12 AG tires and rims on it a couple of years ago. Middle of last summer it just would'nt do anything when he turn the key on.
So, he decided to buy a new mower last summer and this one has sit ever since in his shed.
He put it on C\L with a "make me an offer" tag on it to just get rid of it. I didn't make him an offer, because he said I'd get rid of it for $100. I told he just got rid of it, I'd be there early today to pick it up.
I really don't know anything about a 126 but I figured the rear tires and rims were worth that.
The one thing that is curious to me is that it has a manual lift on it, but the dash has an electrical lift switch. Also there is a little lever on the right side along the tunnel covering the drive shaft, what is that for?
The top of the tunnel has a slot for the creeper, so I am pretty sure that isn't what it is.
Sheet metal is pretty straight, it looks as if the hood brace was broken and some one has used a couple of nuts and bolts to hold it.
The holes up front are in good shape though.
I'll try to get a pic up for you.
Any one own one of these?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Brad

Josh, it's not in the clip art gallery, yet...

Brad, lever thingy is for releasing the hydro valves so that it can be rolled. Electric lift probably broke and it was converted back to manual lift.. Or the switch was installed to power something else.

Rod, you could have that drive shaft welded up and ground back down as a repair.

Brad,
I'm not that familiar with the 126, but the electric lift was an option. The lever on the right on the tunnel - is it on the tunnel or along side it? The hydros had the tow lever along the right side of the tunnel, but I'm not sure what would be there for a gear drive.

Kraig,
126 isn't hydro.....I'm not sure what's up with that lever.

I knew that, I need to quit trying to work while I post here, darn work gets in the way of important stuff.

I wonder if someone swapped a tunnel cover out? Hmmm but then there wouldn't be a creeper slot.

Brad R,

A 126 is a gear drive model. Only option that would possibly put a lever on the right side of the tunnel would be a rear PTO.
