Nice stuff!

Now that it is OTF, this rivet nut/rivnut/nutsert deal can be solved easily.

Save yourself a lot of time and aggravation and get yourself one of these.
It works GREAT! Well worth the $34 on greedbay.

Works almost just like a pop rivet gun.
This kit has 4mm-8mm size rivnuts.

All I've managed to do recently is tear the rest of my 1450 frame down. Only had lower grill casting, front axle and steering column left. Now nothing, and parts are put in stock.
 
I'm having trouble with a front clutch/brake style PTO on my 128. Tractor and engine run great. This is the first clutch/brake style PTO I've had. When the engine is running without any belt on it, it seems to work as it should. When I put a mower belt on it, the PTO won't turn at all. Is there an adjustment or is it a worn out PTO. If I have to take the PTO off I will take out the engine and put the old style on since I have the extra parts to do so.

Pics would help a lot for us to help diagnose the problem.
If the pto does not work right, it seems you will have to take it out anyway to fix or replace it.
Just guessing, but it may be out of adjustment.

Could be you broke or lost the wave washer and or spring behind the brake disc.
Could be the brake disc is worn down to nothing.
Could be the 2 tension springs got hot at some point because of a slipping disc and lost their spring tension.
Could be that the PTO bearing came loose and let the PTO slide out of line with the end of the crank.
Like Marty said, a few pics would be great.
 
Mike I’ve got the same set up on my 149,I believe the brake plate fingers should be set into the coresponding notches in the pto housing so the clutch/brake depress the springs the proper distance to stop the clutch

I think you’re right. I can spin the disc around by hand and also push the PTO in by hand, letting it turn.
 
Mike the way the brake plate is now it won’t depress,if the plate is jumping out of position then as digger suggested it maybe time for a new wave washer and retaining clip
 
Mike also I’m concerned because it looks like in the middle picture you posted the notch in the pto body is wallered out are all three notches like that ? If the notches aren’t a squared off shape that could be allowing the brake plate to slip out of place
 
The fingers on the brake disc are not in the 3 notches in clutch casting, so it is WAY out of adjustment. Pull it off and adjust it.

I can turn the fingers around easily by hand and line them up. However they obviously don’t stay pushed in and seated in the notches. How do you adjust the PTO.
 
It appears it's time to go through that pto completely. It needs to be removed as Matt stated and once that's done things will be more obvious. I always resurface them as well especially if a new friction disc is installed (which I would suggest). If the bearing has many hours on it I'd replace that too. If these ptos are rebuilt properly they will last many years trouble free.

I recently changed a friends 169 over to the old style mainly because he didn't want to spend what it would take to replace the brake parts. They're a little pricey but again, they last a good while when everything's right and Charlie has all of the parts.
