Once again trying to recover from a thirty hour day. Worth it. Acquired the little woman her tractor a 149 with a tiller. Next stop was what appears to be a nice snow/dozed blade a beat up blade and this trailer. I don't know about this trailer. Anybody know about this trailer? The story is that they were both bought at the same time as a new tractor. End of story. The blade seems pretty good, missing and/or broke off one of the shoes. Thought of pins and needles. My turn in the pit of roll pins. :bash:

That would be the Trailer No. 3. It was designed for use with the lawn tractors like the Cadet 76.

This is why you are The Great One, Keeper of the Pictures. Thanks Kraig, now I know what it is. Now to decide what to do with it. Next photo and question. My Brinly hitch has different fasteners at the bottom. One bolt on the left and a pin on the right. Which one is correct? The pin? It's currently on my 107 and I would like to put it on the 149.

Someone likely painted the blade yellow, it should have been white.

The Brinly sleeve hitch adapter would typically be held on with pins, washers and hair pin clips.

Gol-dernit Kraig - yes you are the Great One, but you might just be wrong about the blade. I can't see enough of the blade sub-frame long attachment arms but as best I can tell they don't look like the arms for a wide frame tractor (like the 149). I also can't see the trip spring attachments but here again, they don't look like the regular "spring hook" used for the original wide frame blades. I'm thinking this blade was originally yellow and made by CCC for a later series CC tractor.

Ron - how about posting a couple more pics of the blade so we can see the sub-frame fully extended and also see how the trip springs are attached to the blade and A-frame.

Hydro, actually, I'm not that great... However, I can see enough to tell that the blade sub-frame is for a narrow frame with QA. If you re-read Ron's post he got that at a second stop. It looks exactly like the one I have, well, except that mine is white with rust.

Yeah I said that same thing about it being a "Late Model" and I got the same story about being bought new at the same time as the trailer. When I asked how much they said " It's a package deal " and I said ok sure.

The blade is very likely the same vintage as the #3 trailer.

Any idea what kind of time frame? 70's? 60's? Really just need to know if I should sell it or keep it. I guess the best way to ask is will it fit a 149? I traded my way into that glorious 129 with a blade and it will make a great blade to beat up.

I believe the blade could be anywhere from around 1968 to 1972, or later if it was leftover stock. The #3 trailer would be from around 1972 to 1976. The blade will not fit your 149. To be a little more exact, the blade would fit with the proper sub-frame and lift bracket. It's the sub-frame, the part that fits under the tractor that will not fit and the lift bracket is a bit too short to reach out beyond the tractor frame to line up with the lift point on the right side of the tractor.

My fault, that's the way I should have asked. Duh! Wide frame? Narrow frame? I will learn this fancy high powered language 🤣 Ok it's a narrow frame😪. This is why you are The Great One. It's good to be modest, but to us newbies you are The Great One,Keeper of the Photos. Appreciate the help.

Would the sub frame fit a 100? 🤔 Maybe if there is enough stuff laying around......... 🤔 I could build a 100? Neat little toy. I would take the time to make in nice. Probably just stand and revel in it's glory.

Yes, that blade sub-frame will bolt up to a model 100.

That lift arm looks just like the ones that are on the blades we use on all our wide frames.... (149, QL’s and 82 series). But that subframe is for a narrow frame. The blade will swap to a wideframe subframe, because at one point we had a narrow frame subframe and a wideframe subframe and would switch the blade if we needed to.....

But the lift rod that goes from the blade to beside you right foot would need to be for the correct “frame” narrow or wide, as they are different lengths.......

It takes a different bracket on the A frame for the lift rod. Unless you don't mind having the rod rub on the side of the grill casting. I went down this road before when I went from 147 to 128 for snow blade work.
