What do you '82 series guys make of this ser # tag on this 882?

It is a sticker type, the sticker itself is the same size as what's on the regular IH built QL's, and the aluminum plate it is adhered to is the same size as the whole tag on Rick's 1512.
Could this be an early build or something?

It's #735802

Dave your 882 according to that serial number is a may or june 1984.

as for the dealer tag I have been posting them in the sandbox-base of operations, i moved it over

Dave,
When ya sent me that pic, I didn't realize it was a sticker applied on top of the aluminum plate. Is the factory number 144-882-100? That would be correct for the 882. As for the serial number, it's actually a later one for 1984. Last serial number for 1984 according to Hank Will's book is 737624 so yours is one of the last 2000 CC's made that year, so...... I'm curious since I've never seen a tag like that either.

Head scratcher for me Dave. Maybe someone else with an 882 can compare. Curious to see other's thoughts on this.

St. Louis huh? Well, I'm pretty sure that place no longer exist... The dealer that is, St. Louis is still getting along fine (with or without a NFL team)

The 882 was a one year wonder, in 1985 it became the 1512 as you noted. Personally I like the hood decal of the 882 better, looks great!!

<font size="-2">(Fancy here. Don't tell Marlin)</font> I'll trade Marlin's 14hp 108 and two bags of kitty treats for your 882. Tell your kitties that I say, "HI!"

The dealer is not there but the building is and there is no mistake it was a IH dealer at one time by the design of it.

Thanks I tried for about 5 minutes to do that and gave up ... lol

Jeff..WOW!Looks identical to one of the dealers that wasn't far from "home" at the time, and like yours, it's still there. BTW..you only spent 5 mins and gave up, lol, I spent

not sure how many hrs till I finally got my pic to load.

I live just 20mins west of downtown STL. It does not surprise me to see that it's a pawn shop in South County. I bet it has also been a strip club and a smoke shop...

Let's not even talk about crossing the bridge into East St Louis.
