Joe, If you'd take a minute to check that old thermostat it could help determine if the new one is going to do you any good.

There isn't much checking needed. It is missing the part that makes it open and close.

Should know by the end of the week. Finally found all the parts for the missing fan. Only waiting now for the bearings for the jackshaft for the fan. Then I can install everything and see what temp I get.

that thermostat is missing the most important parts.I should have posted the bearing number for the replacement bearing behind the fan.BTDT for an 82D series .You should have ask !there is no dumb questions ( its how and where you ask)

lol

You've got to ask yourself where the mising thermostat parts went. If you can't account for them they may be blocking up the coolant flow

I had the front off while installing the missing fan parts. While waiting for parts I took the rad to a radiator shop. They flushed and checked the radiator. Said they got a small amount out of it. Well that small amount did the trick. 80 degrees and hot today. No rain. Mowed with the noisy 50" deck and it ran well not getting past the half way mark.
Just an update and thank you all again for the help.
Joe
