This was what I started with. It was in decent condition other than the typical worn trunnion slot and one rear corner of the fender was crunched. The mower deck was not so nice. Once I pulled off all of the patches screwed on, only about half of the original steel was there. I lucked out and picked up a really nice shell from a friend and between the 2, I was able to build a really nice deck.

I’ve been working on a set of wheel weights that will look like the cast center of an IH 1066 38” wheel. A friend measured a set of wheels and made a scaled down drawing for me. Today, I designed the scale wheel weights to mount to my wheel weights.

Tractors are like watermelons: You keep the red and throw away the green. :roflol:

Thanks!

I finally broke down and forked over the money today for a pair of Firestone 3-ribs. I also picked up a 2-spool valve to convert this to a twin-stick setup.

Looks nice , but does that left front wheel lean or is it an illusion?

Started working on my hydraulic upgrade. I had originally planned on replacing the original valve with the 2 spool JD valve I bought. Then, I thought, why not leave the original valve and make it a triple stick tractor like the JD 140 H3. Upon further inspection, I realized there isn’t a good way to convert the tractor over to a twin or triple stick setup. The original lever rod for the valve only clears the ignition switch by about 1/16” so there’s not room for a tube over it for the second lever let alone a second tube over that one for the third lever. Apparently, on the Quiet Line tractors, either the levers or the ignition switch are located differently because their second lever is a tube over a rod.

Revision 1
Original valve and lever will remain stock. New 2-spool valve will be mounted under the tunnel cover with the levers mounted through the shifter hole in the fenders.

Nice job taking advantage of the shift lever cut out.

Thanks guys.
Welded the linkage and made new hard lines to connect the new valve inline with the lift valve. Next is figuring out where I can mount the front remotes with my toolbox on there. I think there’s room under the toolbox to mount the quick connects side by side through the front frame cross member. I already have a mount on the back that I added when I had teed off of the lift cylinder lines to run my dump trailer.
